The wordplay isn't as corny. "I wasn't ready to be a millionaire, I was ill prepared but prepared to be ill though." That's a nice summary of what he's all about...he's actually saying something and it's not forced.

That's just one problem fixed though. All the others remain.

Same old shit. Same poppy Skylar Grey chorus, hoarse delivery (yell the punch line and whisper the set up), forced rhymes (toolboxes/screwdrivers), frustrating lack of content/creativity, same choppy, shit flow.

Multis are all there but they are not as smooth as Relapse, because on Relapse he didn't care about shoehorning puns in the verse.

It's not really whispering, it's more of a growl. I felt like it actually worked fairly well for this song, since the beat drops off the instrumental sometimes. At least his "grouch-y" voice was better on here than HCTW, where his voice just got progressively worse. And it's not Skylar Grey.

This is a stadium song made for a game soundtrack about dudes shooting each other and blowing shit up. I'm frankly surprised this song is as awesome at it is.

And I was under the impression that he forced multis on Relapse a fuckload. If it wasn't bending the words to an unimaginable degree it was using his accent to bend the words. On Survival he's rhyming most of the words naturally, and when he DOES bend words, it sounds good (most of the time; let us not forget SCREW DRIVERZ!)

Go listen to Em's first 3 albums and his songs in 8 Mile. His flow was effortless. He was more efficient. He had it, he was the fucking man. Now he is forcing it, his yelling is sporadic, he has completely lost it, and his beats have no rhythm whatsoever. Sad. What am I listening to? I don't even know him anymore.

What the fuck is the point of comparing Survival to songs like Stan or Lose Yourself. WTF. It's a great song, it doesn't compete with Stan, LY, we fucking get it. It's like a trend to fucking hate everything he released since Relapse or even TES.

It's not a trend. Encore had ''Toy Soldiers.'' If he makes a bad song, I'm gonna say it's bad. If he makes a good song, I'm gonna say it's good. Unfortunately with Em, that's far and few between these days.

I mean I guess it's a jam for working out (Rocky style) but it still could be much better. Better version of WBD at best. But the problem is that even if you DO start to get into it, it takes 40 or 50 listens. Back in the day, it took 1 or 2 listens to grow on you.

I dont give a fuck what your standards are, recovery was average, not trash, and its people like you that set ever increasingly stupid standards for Em compared to other rappers which makes getting a fair review of an Em song on the internet hard.
