Hopsinshadie, it isn't brillant, it isn't fucking terrible either. I liked it, you hated it. You aren't convincing me to think its terrible, I can't convince you to think its good. It's all a matter of opinion.
Except your opinions suck.

It is terrible compared to his first 3 albums.

Then dont listen to it. Why are we supposed to read your stupid bitching?
Amadeo wrote:The wordplay isn't as corny. "I wasn't ready to be a millionaire, I was ill prepared but prepared to be ill though." That's a nice summary of what he's all about...he's actually saying something and it's not forced.
That's just one problem fixed though. All the others remain.
Same old shit. Same poppy Skylar Grey chorus, hoarse delivery (yell the punch line and whisper the set up), forced rhymes (toolboxes/screwdrivers), frustrating lack of content/creativity, same choppy, shit flow.
Multis are all there but they are not as smooth as Relapse, because on Relapse he didn't care about shoehorning puns in the verse.

Now he is forcing it, his yelling is sporadic, he has completely lost it, and his beats have no rhythm whatsoever. Sad. What am I listening to? I don't even know him anymore.
What the fuck is the point of comparing Survival to songs like Stan or Lose Yourself. WTF. It's a great song, it doesn't compete with Stan, LY, we fucking get it. It's like a trend to fucking hate everything he released since Relapse or even TES.
kkaniff wrote:Just listened to it again. I still love it. What the fuck are you haters hearing?

First off, you say "while its not as terrible as most of his recovery songs and other verses", thus implying that his other verses and recovery are shit terrible. That is wrong. I dont give a fuck what your standards are, recovery was average, not trash, and its people like you that set ever increasingly stupid standards for Em compared to other rappers which makes getting a fair review of an Em song on the internet hard. Now I'll quote, since I can't be bothered to type it again.
"Fuck. Okay.
First off, saying 'Ye switched things up
and made shit interesting, while Em
remains stale is silly to the point of
stupidity. You're basing this on what?
a song for a videogame that we have
no Word of God confirmation is on
the album. Yeah.
Even claiming that Survival is no
different from songs from Recovery
makes no sense, man. I know it may
be hard for you Kanye Stans, but wait,
you hear that dude saying words that
rhyme over that admittedly shitty
beat? That dude's name is Eminem,
and those are called lyrics. Listen to
them. Dont be distracted by the fancy
sounding drums and all that extra
shit. Now come back and tell me New
Slaves > . Or the second second verse
is the greatest of all time. Foh"
I've kinda lost my train of thought, maybe I'll be back with an edit. I will day this though, if you can't hear the differences between this and Recovery era songs, then there's nothing I can do for you.
