Underground, Anyone?

Postby EmIsKingOfHipHop » Aug 20th, '13, 06:18

My question is why didn't Em use the flow that he did from "Underground" off of relapse anymore than that? It was a calmer voice with a smoother flow and I thought it was really dope.. Haven't really heard it since then and was curious as to WHY NOT? I think the real Em fans would really dig it
I'm still hungry as fuck, but can't even say bon appetit
Cause I don't know what to eat, fucking microphone or the beat

Who knows, I agree though its a good flow for relapse, I think the same about some recovery songs though. Seems strange to me that he changed his voice so much sometimes. Underground reminds me of him on 'under the influence' too for some reason.

I like his voice. But the song itself is bad, imo.

The hook with those anthem drums is nice, but the lyrics are awful.

Parts of Relapse I'm like :worship:

others I'm more like :facepalm

Yeah, the hook is great :flutter:

The content is bad. I feel that he was trying too hard, or trying to catch the MMLP feel, and failed.

I think this song is fucking amazing?!? I was listening to this a day or two ago and I think he kills it. One of my favorite Em songs actually.

"Came out with a little scratch, ooh
Looking like I got in a fucking pillow fight with a triple fat goose
Insanity, can it be vanity, where is the humanity
And having a twisted fantasy with an arm and leg amputee
Straight jacket with a hundred eight brackets
With a strap that wraps twice around my back then they latch it
Cut your fucking head off and ask you where you're headed off to,
Get it? Headed off to
Medic this headache's awful
This anesthetic is pathetic so is this diabetic waffle
And this prosthetic arm keeps crushing my hard taco"

underground is fucking awesome and all you nay sayers are exaggerating. so what if he didn't have a nice story arc in his lyrics, the rhymes are insane, delivery is one of the best, flow is on point and he tells a good story here and there. the way he uses his addiction and the relapsing back for comedic humor is just awesome. and the beat is of the chain to. perfect mixing and an incredible chorus.

I really have to agree with tony and pyre. And there was no story behind this song. It's called underground for a reason- it was supposed to be him just rhyming like back in the day and spitting some sharp lines with no story structure behind it, which is why the content isn't deep.. I would like to hear him flow/deliver some album type story shit like this too, I think it'd be fire

Because "Underound" was clearly made separately from the rest of the batch, hence having a different musical style, and rap style... probably to end on a dark and relevant note after the true compromises stuck on to the real album as singles.

And thank fuck the rest doesn't sound like it. The true Relapse style is far superior.

God, people wanting the same shit from him all the time. So boring.

Some Relapse songs, such as Medicine ball, would be so awesome with the underground voice
It shows that he still got that classic Em voice, I don't really know why he doesn't used it more often
I can only dream about what Relapse and Recovery would be with that voice

His voice was nice, and I wouldn't mind to see something like that on the album, but with better lyrics. There were parts of the song I loved, but as a whole it isn't too great

That song ruled. I mean the content is nonsense, but the rhyme scheme is sick. And yeah, his voice was perfect. I liked Relapse more than Recovery cause he flowed way better than SUPER ANGRY SCREAM IM BACK DAWG.

I liked it overall. good end to the album. kind of eminem being eminem on that album, the rest was a different style of shady. though the ending of two of the verses im not fond of, it was a great ending to the album.
