That's why he took three years to release a new album. This one HAS to be a classic and he's aware of it.

If this upcoming album is as good as Recovery with better beats I will be satisfied.

If the upcoming album is as good as Relapse, with better content and no accent, then I will be satisfied.

Would I prefer either of these? No. I want a classic. However I feel neither of these would damage his legacy imo. Of course, they wouldn't look as great as another classic, which would be so great.

He knows he has to deliver this time, not for the legacy but his fans .. he could care less if people see him as a goat or not, but he has to deliver for the fans ..

You're right, though if we did get another Recovery it wouldn't be bad, but it would be damaging. I'm sure he knows he's gotta drop something really special. Survival is already a HUGE improvement.

To us die hard stans, yeah ... but survival was not well received. The majority of the hip hop community needs to accept the album to be a classic ..

I look for music that I like to listen to, if the album delivers just that I'll be content with it. Of course I want it to hang with his big 3 but no one's expecting that. Expecting a classic is a stupid move, when true classics are so rare. I don't care about how an album will affect someone's legacy, why should I? Why does someone's legacy matter to me when I'm just looking for music I enjoy? I just find it really dumb to care about what others think about an artist as long as you like him. I agree with Notalius. Legacy doesn't (or it does, but it shouldn't) make any difference.

Not talking to bigray specifically, just in general.

Look outside of TR, a lot of people call it shit, generic beat, stupid hook, those are everyones first thoughts ... to me that's just stupid, but I think you get the point rex ..

This is basically how I feel. I could care less how everyone else feels about the album as long as I like it. The only Eminem album to disappoint me so far is Encore, even though I tried to listen to it with the lowest expectations possible. So he doesn't have anything in particular to prove to me. Unless he delivers an Encore pt. 2, I'll be happy.

This is what us critics think: This is his last shot. It's do or die. We're not talking about sales, we're talking about his rank in hip hop.

He's a perfectionist and when it takes him 3 years to release something im sure we won't be dissapointed.

I will just wait for the album and see for myself what he gave us. If I like it-great. If I don`t, I will not listen to it. But, if he makes a bad album (which I doubt), I will not think less of him, because his music is a big part of my life. Em gave me something other artists never did, so that is why I will always think great of him.

Survival sounds better with repetition and better stereo. Still better than WBD. Plus it was just a video game song. One thing though, is his attitude was right, he seems hungry. With that new instagram, His passion is there. It's just a matter of what direction he directs it. An angry Slim Shady is the best way to go.

Yeah, even I would concede he's done if this one ain't THE SHIT.

Even if it ain't a classic... it has to be like "wow, amazing" top to bottom...

3 and a half years almost... no excuses, no drugs... total focus... totally psychotic and pure for Relapse and totally commercial and 'made for others' with Recovery... he should have learnt enough now to make this one THE shit... if he ain't and can't... he just doesn't have the ability now.
