Why isn't T.I. bigger?

I mean, dude's dope and he has been that way for too long
How many rappers you remember that has been on top for 12 years with 8 solid to great albuns? Not a lot, I bet.
He has done movies, which is simply huge. Had singles blow up such as What You Know, What's Up, What's Happening, Whatever You Like...
He had been arrested, which did put his name in a lot of news and on the mouth of people.
He starred two majors MTV shows, has his own label which is one of the most famous in the game.
It's all there. Controversy, great albums, movie roles, own label... However, I feel he fails to make the list of a lot of people when it comes to current greats. He should sell more of what he usually does too.
Maybe I'm tripping and he is that huge, but I feel he should always be quoted when refering to today's big boys, just alongside Jay and Kanye, who always gets a pass, for instance.

Yeah he probably deserves more recognition but I haven't heard much of his shit that weren't singles and haven't ever heard of someone saying they were a huge T.I fan. He had a while there where he was relevant with 'whatever you like', 'dead and gone' and 'My Love', that's what I remember from him in high school.

It was not that bad the first time back in the day 'cuz he came out hungry as fuck & put down Lil' Flip who was trying to steal his spot as the so called King of the South. Those last two times he went to jail when he was already one of those best selling & most popular rappers were really bad for his career though & slowed him down a great deal & it's gonna be probably totally impossible for him to go back to where he was.

Why should he be... what's he really created?

Apart from rapping well... can you truly name anything that you could pit up against other genres as an amazing piece of music, or a genius concept or story... has he advanced the art?

If it's a no to all of those, then he's as big as he should be.
