On a serious note, now that I've calmed down a little bit (A LITTLE BIT, I'M STILL IN THAT EM'S DA GREATEST OOOOOOOOH SHIIIIIT STAN MODE), let's analyze the title.
As NextEpisode said, Em deciding to call his album MMLP 2 denotes an extreme confidence. He isn't afraid (pun intended ) of the possible damages that the comparison between this album and one of his all time classics can do. So he must be really sure with what he has done and what he's putting out.
He wants to go back to what he was, and that's cool, let's see if he can do it properly. It's clear he's trying to mimic the old Slim Shady voice from 2000, I don't think he's doing it perfectly, but who cares? This is going to be Shady at its finest, what people wanted since his comeback... scratch that, what people wanted since Encore... damn, scratch that too, what people wanted from The Eminem Show, when people first started saying he went soft.
We're finally getting it. This IS the return of Slim Shady, and I guess that fake title wasn't that far from what the album will be like, or to what Em wants us to think it will be like.
I'm starting to wonder, though, if Em really has full creative control on his music.
He had on Relapse, surely, then we had Recovery, which was probably influenced by the label, although Em claim it wasn't. Isn't it strange that when all the fans want Em to go back to himself that's exactly what we get?
MMLP 2 was the most obvious and unpredictable title we could have expected, this album has the potential to be a game changer, with Em going back to an old school beat for the first single. It's up to him now, he can elevate his career to whole other level, or kind of ruin THE classic of his career.
I wasn't sure if posting this here or making it a thread, but since probably tomorrow, when the single drops, I'll have other opinions I just post here.
