Here's the thing... I like this track a lot, well, I love the rapping on it...

I never wanted the new album to sound like it though and the snippets / suggestion of the sound seem to suggest that the album will sound nothing like that...

The snippet sounds like fucking modern 80s rap rock / boom bap shit as a lot of have said, which is just really interesting... I never even thought about him potentially doing that, but this sounds... even on initial hearing, as like a really fresh reinvention of... at least himself, if not hip-hop.

And now that I've heard the snippets... I REALLLLLLY don't want "Survival" to be on there and if the rest of the album ain't anything like it... it'll stick out like a mother fucker.

AND, you can't have a song with as generic production and hook as that on MMLP2... I mean, this is a 'sequel' or at least a counterpart to THE FUCK YOU album of all-time, everything about it needs to be ballsy as fuck and unique. And Em is ballsy on "Survival", but musically... it's way too plain.

if it's not on the album... it's confusing me as to why they're going to put out a video for it. As, doesn't that just kind of pointlessly confuse things? Kind of implying it's an album single considering Em ain't had solo shit out for 3 years... I really hope it's nowhere near the final tracklist...

This new shit, sounds nothing like Recovery or anything he's done, where as "Survival" does kinda whiff of "Cinderella Man" and WBD... the optimist in me wants to think he used that song / made it like that intentionally to throw us off-guard and then hit us with the MMLP2 revelation.

But, I really don't know. Please don't fucking be on MMLP ffs.

Ugh I like Survival but I couldn't care less if it's on thre album or not..it probably will not be on the album if the trailers are an indication of what's to expect.

I just LOVE the fact that Em is going back to HIP HOP, real hip hop, not this Pitbull, Flo Rida shit that's been going on for too long and is polluting the airwaves.

I think it'll be a bonus track, The reason being for COD if for nothing else. I see it easily ending up a bonus. Or it could be on the album, who knows, it would just stick out because the first single sounds nothing like it. Not even his voice is the same, now it seems like it was recorded in a completely different session. I would dismiss the song easily if the album wasn't coming the same day as COD: Ghosts but it is...

The song, by itself, is awesome, amazing, and kick-ass. I'm not sure how I would feel about it being on an album that is gonna be as monster and as hard-hitting as MMLP2 should be.

The album was finished about a month before Yeezus was finished. Survival got released about 5 months after he started working on it. Stans, do the math

I have been wondering the same. It's a 50/50. Will we get a rock version of the MMLP or was Survival just for the video game?

I doubt he would make a "Rock version" of MMLP if he is saying 'lets take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch'
