NL has it. So the UK would be left out?

The Eminem Show was very heavily rock influenced, and the production on The Marshall Mathers LP also pulls from that realm. These are his prime works, and neither came out sounding like a Linkin Park album due to the rock influence. Rick tends to strip things down, not make them overbearing.

Survival isn't a reliable indication of the direction of production, because it was pumped up for the purpose of the COD game. The original song sounded very different.

This. :y:

Is there an original version of Survival? :O

People just reading in to it way too much. It's Odom.

Double entendre.....How is that too far a reach? He mentions "Lamar" and he references a line in Control.

I hope the album won't be full of rock... if that's the case I don't understand why he called it MMLP2.

I like the rock-ish direction, though I agree with you on the fact that it wouldn't make sense for rock-type beats on something called MMLP2. Why not just call it The Eminem Show 2?

Wat no it was just said by the COD guy who got the song.

Last album?...."Get the bar soap lathered, came ghost and called Arthur’s Cargo's", bottom of third verse of "Berzerk", Rap Genius say's "Arthur's Cargo" is a way of saying that this is it, he will say goodbye to hollywood for good. Like naming it MMLP 2, maybe going for broke, or is this just him coming back to take over again?

In Survival, he sounded like he was back for good and meantions it in some lines.

I'm not sure what to think.
If you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, would you capture it? Or just let it slip?

I know, wtf... it literally sounds like some Big Weenie type stupidity rambling... this is fucking MMLP2 not Encore 2!... musically, it's great and experimental but why so lazy lyrically. Fuck.

Still get a buzz seeing Marshall Mathers LP 2 on my Ipod.

This song is all about context, that second verse might stand out as a break from the firestorm of lyricism that is the rest of the album.

I also prefer Survival to a fair few songs on MMLP so I guess it's 1-1 at the moment.

Hopes still high. As an indicator of his tone of voice / delivery switch-ups it is definitely promising.

Let's not forget the hook which is insane.

Second verse is mocking bad rappers, so he got it good. I like the song overall.

You all need to calm the fuck down. Wait for the music video. It should illustrate what he's getting at in the verses.
