Is your faith restored/destroyed in Eminem?

Postby Kill You » Aug 27th, '13, 13:23

Share your thoughts. After 2 songs from the album being released, is your faith restored in the return of Slim Shady? Or do you think he's coming off as washed up?

My faith has been restored. For a lot of people, this is exactly what they wanted out of the album and the lead single. I recall many people saying they wanted a funny one, this is that funny, tongue-in-cheek single that he used to do. He's trying to take hip hop back to its roots.

What do you think?

You know what, even if I didn't like the sound of the single in the beggining, I listened 2/3 other times to make sure I hate it. I did with my beats. Song is absolutely banging and I see what he's trying to do.

Even if it's not my favorite song, my faith is restored because this is the Eminem that doesn't give a fuck about anyone. He's doing his own thing, he's not following any trend or anything like that. And that's what I love about this song.

Besides, I like it more than Not Afraid and We Made You.

The big thing I think he's trying to do is go back to that imagery he used to use a lot. This is a very weird and different style, it's like SSLP and MMLP mixed over banging production. I have a feeling he went back and listened to his old albums.

Berzerk makes me real intrigued. When I hear Berzerk, it makes me more interested in the album. But it's a bit hard to decipher where Em is gonna go with it. We'll just have to see. Right now I'm curious, we're all curious. I have no dam idea what this album is going to sound like.

But again, have to pray that the other songs don't sound like Survival and hope that it ain't on the album. Knowing that it might have some Beasty Boys flavor, with the new producer, I'm just really uncertain how this will turn out, whether good or bad.

Don't want it to be a rock album though. I want some dark hip-hop beats.

I'm done with him. I'll listen to the album and hope against all odds I like something on it, but what he's doing now is of no interest to me whatsoever.

I'm just baffled by anyone talking about it being "restored" after these two songs. Restored from what? How are these songs an improvement to you over anything that he was putting out before?
