Gaga actually does sell albums. Monster ALMOST sold more album than Em in '10. He got her on the last week or something.

And her last one sold 1M+ in its first week.

Berzerk has gone from being 'meh' to one of my favourite tracks at the moment. I hope the whole album is like that, music that grows on you as you listen to it is always the best stuff in my opinion.

That "Berzerk" vid looks beyond GOAT... I think it'll elevate the song.

Fuck... it's annoying because there are many good signs of the album having potential to be a classic such as a seemingly consistent visual... just a handful (Dre, Em, Rubin) of producers but not only that, they all mix in similar (loud, crisp, rock-rap) circles musically, with their sounds a lot...

And, just the consistency of having Dre and Rubin oversee the project...

Then you have:
- the time taken.
- Em's clear intent to match or top his best work rather than just 'putting more shit out'...
- Em's ballsy 180 opposite of Recovery Em flip, from pussiest move ever to most ballsy ever.

The production and visuals are looking real good... and "Berzerk" is catchy as FUCK, but I'm not sure it's MMLP2... whatever that is, but, it's essentially just a generic party rap jam and conceptually, a bit of a step backwards... but I'm glad that he's realized it's about a unique melody and a whole unique song structure and aesthetics again, not just brilliant rapping...

But if the track had more rap gusto itself... Hmmmmm...

Fuck. I hope he knows what he's doing.

The one good thing is... at the very least he HAS to be on the major offensive back to front on this record; not that he pretty much always isn't lmao but musically... this sounds nothing like MMLP so why else would he associate it, if not for his attitude... and you can tell he was going back to trying to strip his voice back down with "Numb" and "Here Comes the Weekend"... with much more casual/referential humour again, I actually love his rapping on those things a lot...

And he must surely have concepts... or at least a couple... as obviously he knows... in fact is asking for this to be compared to MMLP... so surely he's not gonna do that and have NO concepts or no storytelling or something truly unique, to try and battle the likes of Stan and Kim...

At least we know he's in a ballsy mood.

As Recovery, he tries to sound ballsy in his lyrics yet the entire intent of the album was to please people and ask to be liked... which, is just too much of an artistic contradiction going in; where as MMLP is literally "FUCK OFF AND DIE, BURN, LIFE'S A JOKE, EVERYBOYD'S A CUNT' from fucking start to finish, it's a work of bigoted genius, an atomic bomb going off in your face...

Where as "Life's too short to not go for broke" AIN'T that; that's saying 'make the most of life because it's short'... that's inspirational and positive, and if MMLP2 is positive... why is it even called MMLP2... wow. We can say one thing, this ain't boring. Hope you know what you're doing Em.

Just like Relapse .

I liked relapse from the start, but yeah. I suppose you could say it about most of Em's albums, a few years after it is out people start saying 'oh yeah i think its really good'

Huh? Pretty sure my views on Recovery have stayed pretty consistent from the start... not that it's a crime / fault to change your opinions, you feel what you feel, taste isn't a choice.

But "Cinderella Man" and "Almost Famous" are still amazing tracks to me, I constantly praise them to this day, listen to them regularly, don't think he's yelling and actually love the use of yelling; shit feels like cocaine to me and I always love different eras of styles, I do not want the same thing twice.

I'm annoyed he scrapped Relapse 2, but I just want it AS WELL as Recovery; he DID compromise and Recovery WAS made for the wrong reasons; doesn't mean there's not good music on it though.

Pretty sure I criticized / was 'ehh' about the production from day one... and loved the songs which I love now from day one... and I like the hooks also... and the flow/style on those which you mentioned in particular is highly enjoyable to me, and in fact you could even find very recent posts of me re-praising "Cinderella Man" in new ways, about how I personally feel that it was an evolution in his writing, how he writes more 'adult' and yet still rebellious, the poetic sharpness in spots...

So dunno what you're talking about @ mentioning me Pham.

PS. I also loved Relapse from day one and my views about Relapse being fucking brilliant and consistent / near-classic without the duds has remained from day one also... in fact I was one of the few championing the shit when people were trashing it, I even specifically remember loving / praising the fuck out of "Same Song and Dance" whilst people said it was weird and boring lmao.

I don't flip-flop much pham, I just like what i like, or not, and say why.

We can't really compare anything Gaga releases to anything Em releases. For example Born this way the album: They sold the entire album for 99cents in the first week so of course more people are going to download it legally. I'd rather Em doesn't come up with such a desperate attempt and not "sell" as many records. How much many did the record label and/or Gaga herself end up making when you sell an entire album for a dollar anyway?
August 22 2013 - from Berlin to Paris, 400€ spent just for Eminem. IT WAS WORTH EVERY SINGLE CENT!
