I was meaning to post in this thread when it was posted but I was on my phone at the time lurking (as I do everyday). This thread is very important. Em releasing music has chronicled certain memories for me. For example I remember first hearing 'Stan' and 'Guilty Conscience' on a single my mate had taken from his mum when I was just 10 years old.

The year 2002 for me was the first time I had ever owned an actual album to myself (even though it was a burned copy that a "friend" charged me $5 for) and I thrashed it in the discman that my parents bought me for my birthday. I literally would just play it through and when it finished, start it over again. Later on I would skip certain tracks but it shaped my taste in music. I had never heard anything like it before in my life and I felt like I had to keep it a secret from my parents as they were fairly strict when I was young.

Anyway, I've had fun reminiscing but my point is that when I look back on time there are eras/artists of music I wish I was there for completely and Em is the one that so far I pretty much have been able to. So enjoy this guys because like Em said:

"But when it's all said and done I'll be 40
Before I know it with a 40 on the porch tellin' stories
With a bottle of Jack, two grandkids in my lap
Babysitting for Hailie while Hailie's out gettin' smashed"

And look at how old he is now....time flys. Enjoy being in the moment because before long we'll be looking back at this time wishing Em hadn't retired whilst Bieber is the biggest rapper in the game haha.

That was beautiful man, really. I, and everyone else can definitely relate to that feeling of associating certain albums with certain eras and times of our lives. Like, when I think Graduation and The Cool, those dropped when I was senior in high-school, and the vibe I get from the albums is pretty much the vibe I was feeling at the time, so in a way it makes some memories feeling more real so to say.

Or with Recovery, that June of 2010 was fucking great, and when you haven't heard a song from it in a while, it just hits you hard. Like, the sounds is accessing emotions from your brain, it's fucking awesome.

Btw, this thread should be a sticky in the next little while; I don' want people missing out on the fun because of some stupid psychology glitches.
