Just watched VH1s ultimate albums MMLP
Now im so pumped, since MMLP was a response to the hate from the SSLP it makes me think MMLP2 is a response to all the hate from Relapse and Recovery and hes just gonna dish it all out

"There is a positive message in my music, and its fuck you" - Eminem

We need this fuck you album

Imagine him tweeting

There is no MMLP2

like he did with Relapse 2 :'(

LOL

The only thing worse than that would be getting a second single with lyrics like "Now, I was gonna say something important but... I fucked up... LOL!! I'm kidding! Sorry for Relapse guys, I'm so so so sorry, I'm a BIG MEANIE!!" <--- actual lyrics and rhymes from the song :'(

AYO! Any news on the Berzerk or Survival video? I wonder which one will come first...

Speaking of Survival, do you guys think that song indicates how the rapping on the album will be, much like I'm Having a Relapse and Despicable?

And also the rock track and the female hook? :'( But then again, Despicable didn't sound all that much like Recovery...

Sometimes I listen to Despicable and then I think "After this, how the fuck did he come out with Recovery?"

Maaaaaan

So pumped for MMLP2 and trying not to have my expectations too high but I'm listening to Syllables atm and wish if he was gonna make fun of the current scene (like in second verse of Berzerk) that he could do it in a similar style to that. Ah well....

Also, what year is Syllables meant to be from and what project?

It's the reason why I don't listen to the song that much.

I agree that it's not great but it does pump me up a bit. I'm more into the verses and my gf is always into hooks so I can tell if its good if she likes it....survival she doesn't Berzerk she loves.

Let me put it to you like this.......we are so infatuated with the work Eminem did on his first 3 major label albums, which is where he crafted 3 classics, that no matter how dope MMLP2 or any Eminem album is, it could never match those. Same thing with Nas never matching Illmatic or It Was Written, same with Jay never matching Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint, or Black Album.

He's not the same exact guy he was at 26 years old, so the music won't sound the same. So we're always going to have those first 3 albums in our head when we're judging his work. Encore, Relapse, and Recovery work much better when you put those first 3 aside, and just listen to them for what they are. Encore had some good stuff, his worst stuff ever too. Relapse had some good stuff, some whack stuff too. Recovery had some real good stuff, too many girls on the chorus and too much production that doesn't suit Eminem though.

But even Hell the Sequel, which in my opinion was his best effort from start to finish since Eminem Show, is not near a classic. He hasn't really put it all together though since Eminem Show and 8 Mile. HTS came close, but still had a little too much shouting and some production was still off on a few songs. Still though, he spit fire a majority of that cd, Welcome to Hell, Fast Lane, Loud Noises, Living Proof for example. Even Above the Law and Echo, the shouting and the girl chorus worked on these, and even A Kiss had some classic clever shady lines.

But to even get people to potentially think MMLP2 matches his first 3, the album would have to be even better than those, which I don't think he can do. We're so infatuated with those albums that no matter how dope MMLP2 is, we'll never compare them unless it's even better, and I don't think Eminem at 40 can make something that good anymore. He can still make dope stuff, he's never made an album I completely hated at all. I think best case for Em is he makes something dope, something people call a return to that era. It doesn't have to match those 3, but it can build upon his legacy still.

I'm pretty sure Syllables was probably meant for his 2007 album that was scrapped.

it would only touch his first 3 if he handles own production.
And we all know he won't do that,(maybe 1-2 beats,if we're lucky, whats not enough for that)

I see Survival (prod by DJ Khalil) and I see Berzerk (prod by Rick Rubin)
And if this guy on SL really has the 2 songs they prod by Rick Rubin as well cuz he said
the files be with Rick Rubins name on the end. I don't see hope he's touchin one of his classics with other ppl producing his shit.
But I hope I'm wrong.
Dr. Dre did a good job on Relapse, though

Remember Encore? He prod the best songs on it (Yellow Brick Road,Like Toy Soldiers, Puke,Spend Some times & Mockingbrid)
plus We As Americans & Love You More (if they wasn't leaked before)
