No one's over-hyping him here, especially with his past three albums. And please don't double post.

Em' fucked things up 'cause he overused the serial killer theme and the accent, then the rap/rock beats, the yelling and the girls on the hook. We say Survivor is not a good song just because we are tired of that sound... now imagine if that song was released right after Relapse?! We would be ranking it as high as we rank his Forever verse (or even higher).

I love the serial killer theme, always did and not only in music. That's why I love Relapse so damn much. I won't argue with people saying it's not a classic, because they are right, it's no TES and it's no MMLP. But it's still a fucking classic TO ME and a reference because it perfectly fits with my tastes. The atmosphere on this album is ... Magic. Fantastic. And fucking unique.

Accent and yelling nether bothered me, and I think Recovery is a really, really good album. But this whole Rock/rap girl singing hook ? Nope, we got way too much of that, it feels like every of those songs look the same. I love Survival verses, but hook reminds me too much of WBD.

On the other hand I don't mind girls on hook. Y'all probably gonna bash me but I really like LTWYL's hook (or basically any hook that Skylar Grey wrote). I just don't want it to be rock-overproduced like Survival. Take From Me, and Above The Law for example, have the type of hook that I don't mind at all I love them. I bump these songs a lot btw.

But let's face it, best hooks in Em's songs are hooks that Em do himself.

I definitely hope that he's kept a wide berth from Skylar, Pink and Rihanna and the likes on MMLP 2.

IF he should be featuring female voices he should go for the slightly quirky, artistic types. I'd really like him to kind of go underground-ish -- sonically --with those types of female-on-the-hook songs.

Like for instance FKA Twigs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HM8b4JHG8o : she has this delicate, sweet voice that would sound so good on a dark track, I don't know, the contrast between Em and an artist like her seems so cool to me and perhaps it will be more powerful to "tune" it down instead of screaming and taking it way up there to prove that it's an emotional song). Also, as opposed to Skylar's style this for example does not seem so forced.

Just in general I hope that the album is just as sonically appealing as lyric-wise and shock-wise, because I know that he wouldn't disappoint with the latter :)

He probably hadn't heard Berzerk then. Even still he seems like the type to say what he wants no matter who he hangs with.

This is the thing, I just think Skylar on a "dark twisted" Em song would seem so forced.

Em should keep Skylar at bay and use someone on the hook that isn't too compatible-- the opposite of "dark and twisted". Someone who is not a too obvious of a choice but who is edgy and who can add an interesting dimension to the song.
