What's your most surprising album this year?

Postby OMEGA » Sep 3rd, '13, 20:52

Yeah, the one album that positively surprised you the most. It could be an entire album or even an artist that you just discovered. For me it's probably this:

I made a joke thread saying "is asap ferg bout to drop a classic?" which again, was obviously a joke since my only exposure to his music was the hilariously bad Ghetto Symphony verse he dropped on Rocky's album.

Surprise surprise, I actually enjoyed this album a lot and I'm still bumping it regularly. It doesn't have content, and Ferg's lyrics are average, but that doesn't stop it from being great at what it aims: a trap album pure and simple. If you don't like this type of music, nothing here will change your mind, but if you enjoy listening to generally mindless lyrics accompanied with some seriously kickass, loud bassy beats, this shit is boss.

I had respect for CC before this piece, but I wasn't an actual fan until they released it. Almost every track is a banger and they go so well together. Better than any other duo by far.

check this out, it'll blow your cunt off. they do these acapellas live too.

I liked Rittz before but thought he couldn't make a full album without sounding boring. Oh how wrong I was. :flutter:

We're gonna rock this house until we knock it down
So turn the volume loud, cause it's mayhem 'til the a.m.
So baby make just like K-Fed and let yourself go, let yourself go
Say fuck it before we kick the bucket

Legends Never Die-R.A. the Rugged Man.
Surprised me because I've never actually listened to his music before. And when I got this, I was surprised and impressed.
Mac Miller's album surprised me as well, mainly because I didn't like Blue Slide Park, wasn't expecting WMWTSO to be good.

Legends Never Die- R.A. the Rugged Man

Believers- ¡Mayday!

These two albums blew me away. Totally surprised me and knocked my expectations out of the park. Amazing albums :y:

You shouldn't be suprised, homie :) "Take Me To Your Leader" was so amazing that i'd call it maybe even AOTY.

I'd go with Mac Miller's album.
