Yo TR People! I've been wanting to shed light on an artist who doesn't get much attention here so I wanted to change that. Whether you're a Hardcore, casual or first time listener you're welcome to post thoughts on the artist, favourite songs/albums, lyrics breakdowns, whatever...
Now Pharoahe Monch is a very respected MC. He's a sick rhymer with unique and complex flows, he is really clever with metaphors and interesting concepts that make you sit back and think deeply and raise your thought process. If you know me, you know I love those kinds of artists.
Anyway, Internal Affairs is my favourite project of his.
But I'll leave it at that for now, I want to hear from some of you guys. What do you think about Monch?
Thank you for making this thread, brother. My favourite artist of all-time m8. Powerful stuff.
And yeah, Organized Konfusion have done some solid work also.
Internal Affairs is just too good, Desire is up there also. Desire album has my favourite song by him which is "Book of Judges". But I honestly prefer Internal Affairs just a little more. Both are very close for me, like MMLP and TES.
(Sounds like shit m8s, no high quality version on YouTube).
And let us not forget that Training Day soundtrack he was on, whew.
I'd seriously recommend anybody on here all three of his albums. Internal Affairs, Desire and W.A.R. (We Are Renegades). And even that Organized Konfusion work is solid stuff as already stated.
Hopefully we get P.T.S.D. album without it getting delayed too much. The single "Damage" was released for the album and a rough version of "Stand Your Ground" was also released.
It's understandable if you don't like the awkward flow on this, he seems to have done that intentionally.
"Stand Your Ground" sounds funky tbh, I really like it. As it's not the final version and is still very rough, I'm sure the song will be longer.

His verse on Bring It On still gives me fuckin' chills, how he switches his delivery up constantly on that track is just ridiculous
I've always felt bad for Prince Po, who is an awesome rapper in his own right, but Pharoahe literally eclipses him on every OK track
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you That ain't even the half what they might do Don't believe me, ask Michael See Martin, see Malcolm You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus See success is like suicide Suicide, it's a suicide If you succeed, prepare to be crucified[/i - Jay-Z

Simon says used to be my whole circle of friends pump up song for a while.
Shamed to say that beyond that my knowledge of him is only a feature he did with the Hilltop Hoods called 'Classic Example'. I know he's really well respected so I'm going to have to give him a listen.
