What's the point in "Re-visting" MMLP tho? And with Rick Rubin? Surely he'll give the album a completely different feel than what MMLP was. I don't get what he's doing. Why go backwards? Seems like a choice you make when your out of ideas.

I think he means he is revisiting a point in his life he enjoyed.

His music was on point back then. He is going back to kind of rediscover the passion he had. Back when rap was more relavent, back when he could do anything on the mic.

He is going back to make the same album again, he's going back to recapture enthusiasm he had so he can leave that. "I don't have anything left to give" mindset behind.

Things change over a decade, and some things from that time period he'd like to get back into his music, but that doesn't mean he is going backwards. It's just going back to his roots to give him fire to go forward.
