While I agree, I personally do not hold Jay-Z above Tech N9ne. I'll hold his album above Tech, but not himself. I can recognize that Reasonable Doubt is probably better than anything he's put out. Having a classic album doesn't automatically make Jay a better rapper though. It means he was able to make great music at that time. Tech N9ne is a far better rhymer and rapper than Jay, that is me being unbiased honestly. I was comparing them NOW anyway. Now, Tech shits all over Jay-Z and wipes his ass with Beyonce's hair.

I'm not saying he is one of the greatest rappers to ever grace the mic, I was just pointing out his obvious ability to deliver a message in his songs, which most people tend to forget/ignore when they're discussing his music. He get's so much shit about only babbling words without any sense it's not even funny.

Of course he's gonna have meaningless songs/verses, he practically shits out albums almost every year, which is a huge negative in my opinion.

About the rhymes from This Ring, most (if not all) rappers have had bad rhymes in their "meaningful" songs, but that's just nitpicking and really a weak argument.

mchg isn't a great album, i don't think anyone is claiming it is. but it's filled with songs like nickels and dimes, heaven, picasso baby, futw, somewhereinamerica, etc that are all good-great songs.
