Recovery being a hip-hop album isn't my opinion, it's a fact. I don't mean to be a dick but the whole "Recovery is too pop/mainstream" BS grinds my gears. I like Relapse better too, just for the record.

i remember about a year back the first time i played a relapse song for my 2 friends. My 2 friends and I are always driving places together and i would always play eminem. but i played some stuff from TES,MMLP, and recovery here and there but not once did i play relapse songs because i thought for sure they would hate it. i thought that because they were not into eminem as much as we are lol. but i played stay wide awake one day and both of them went crazy and were like "why have you not played any of these songs before" and i kept playing the rest of relapse and they both loved it. My friend even went and bought relapse and refill. the only full album he owns by eminem. i was very shocked.

Everything Em does on Recovery is straight hip-hop, the popish sound on some songs comes from the producers and the other artists on the hooks. This is not how I want a future Eminem album to sound, nevertheless, I still love it.

Absolutely. If you tell me Recovery production was weak, there were too many sampled hooks & corny punchlines, and it wasn't coherent like an Em album should be... I'd agree with you 100%. But calling it a pop record is fucking retarded & I'm tired of hearing it.

How dare someone not enjoy Relapse on here!

I don't care if you enjoy Relapse or not. This guy is bashing it for pretty much standard reasons that the critics used, leading me to believe he's another Recovery bandwagoner willing to take Em's hand and fly away to Stan Heaven to get sucked off by Sasha and Skylar Grey while blasting You're Never Over "cuz its so emotional yo".

Honestly I think Relapse was a flop. I did when I first heard it, and still think to this day it's his worst album. The accent completely ruins everything. And the way after hearing each song probably a dozen times I still confuse the songs all the time means nothing "sticks out" which is the biggest problem. I've heard almost every song claimed to be the best on the album, and IMO that's a bad thing. Also the album is too conceptual, which sounds odd, but if you play a single song off it people go "WTF is that". And most people won't give the album a second listen. The only song I ever bump, is the controversial hit/fail, "beautiful".

Each Relapse's song is AT LEAST good. (Minus CaB if you're severe), which is not the case with Recovery.

Relapse is a fucking classic to me. It's no TES or TMMLP for sure, but a masterpiece anyway imo

But hey, it's a matter of taste ...
