Relapse for sure. I like how it all fits together. Recovery is good, it just isn't that good.

It is overrated compared to his other albums, but it is much better than I could have expected.

Wait a minute whoa, Crack a Bottle the only good song from Relapse? What about Stay Wide Awake, Deja Vu, and Underground to name a few. Crack a bottle was easily one of the worst songs on the album.

Say what. Don't like Relapse, sure, but Crack A Bottle is the only good song you think? Forgetting Deja Vu at least?

I think the insanely over the top level of love that Relapse gets here is more of a reaction to the weaker points of Recovery than anything else. That's not to say that Relapse isn't a great album with many strengths, but it is to say that people tend to view the album in a more positive light now as it compares to what followed it more so than perhaps any other album in his discography.

Relapse is full of great things, but an album with impressive technical lyricism and topnotch production doesn't make a classic any more than an album full of anthemic hooks and emotional content over a team of "hit-maker" beats does. Unfortunately these albums are so intertwined in their critical perception that neither one seems to get an independent view of its own merits.

There are people that have loved either or both albums since the beginning based solely on how the album appealed to their personal tastes, but overall, both albums seem to bee seen through a veil of this meme of opinion here on TR that has spread like predictable Mad Men and Obama gif emoticons.

I just thought all the other songs on the album were lackluster and not really funny. Even the pop culture references like Kim Kardashian and Hannah Montana just felt forced. I thought Crack a Bottle was catchy and it was really the enjoyable song on the album. I did re-listen to Deja Vu and it isn't a awful song, but it's lacking like the other songs.

I'm against over-praising of Relapse as much as the next person, but you really just sound like a kid who is trying to get into Eminem and has just finished listening to all of his album one time.

You got some of that right. I recently listened to every album he ever made, but before that I wasn't a huge fan of his work. I'm 16 and will be turning 17 in a month. (Not that anyone cares.) Also to make one thing clear, I'm not listening to Eminem to be cool or anything. My music taste is starting to evolve and now the rap genre has grown on me. I didn't want to hate Relapse, but I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good. I'm fine with people loving Relapse, but for me it was just an awful album and with the whole listening to all his albums one time, I have no urge to listen to Relapse again! I would be glad to listen to all his other albums again.

Crack a Bottle gives me a fucking headache. It's one of my least favorite Em tracks ever.
