I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Yes.

I have been on here for years prior to setting up an account (I was hysterical after seeing #MMLP2 on Twitter and eventually made my account).

It's the same pattern. When Relapse came out, everyone thought it was phenomenal. Then everyone thought it was shit, Recovery came out and everyone loved it. Then after the hysteria died downed everyone thought that was shit and that Relapse was great again.

Everyone will love the MMLP2 at first, then the criticisms will start and in retrospect Recovery will go right up in people's estimations.

Tbh if Em fucks this up he will have lost a ton of credibility. He can't keep releasing music and then bashing it on his next album (calls Encore and Relapse "shit" and on My Life "I almost wish I never made Recovery").

This is a sequel to the most controversial album of the past 15-20 years. If he nails it, he's an absolute God. If this flops, he'll find it very hard to recover again.

One thing's for sure, no one can fault the man's balls to produce a Marshall Mathers LP sequel at this point in his career. Let's just hope the risk pays off and we can get an album that the fans and Em will be very happy with.

That would be ridiculous, but it might happen

I distinctly remember initial reviews for the Eminem show. Im talking in the first couple days.
Way too immature, hes lost the plot, no depth, overproduced, this isnt hip hop, Eminem is ruining culture etc etc. Now not a bad word can be said.
I distinctly remember initial reviews of Encore.
Just like TES this is great, Classic eminem, continues to defy logic, this could be the best yet etc etc.. now look at the opinion..

Strictly speaking all initial reviews should be ignored. Listen to it for yourself and make up your own mind. Listen to it 10 more times and let it sink in, make sure you understand every song. Then you can opine. In saying that I cannot wait for the first listen comments eg: OMG GOAT, WTF WOAT, MEH etc etc. Always loved the Eminem album cycle!! Good times.

I've been checking this forum almost every day sine May 2012 for album news. How do you think I feel?

If I an recall correctly, People Magazine gave Encore four (out of four) stars.

I feel similar but disagree nb with two things. Hardly anyone shit on TES when it came out. Maybe its gotten better received to classic status over tine, but most all reviews and opinions were positive and saw it as a growth as an artist. Aside from a few reviews, general consensus I remember was Encore was a big let down. And with Encore it got mixed reaction from the get go, maybe people didn't realize at first how bad certain songs truly were....but in no way did Encore get great reviews at first.
