When the MMLP came out, I didn't have internet. I didn't even have a computer, I got my first computer later in the year.
I knew Eminem was coming out with a new album, that was it. I didn't read a bunch of interviews about it. I didn't read tweets about it. I didn't listen to clips 100 times before I finally heard it. There was no leaks for me that was covered in replays halfway through the song and people screaming shit.
All there was for me was the thought of a new album. And that was enough. And when I heard the album, it was amazing. Because it was fresh. And that gets lost in todays music. Not only to you get desensitized to the new music you're getting, you get spoiled. The internet gives you so much with such ease, you become entitled.
Not to say on the other hand it isn't great too. A few months after the MMLP I got a computer and got to hear songs like Hell bound, Our house and a lot of other cool Eminem stuff off Napster.
While the internet opens a lot of doors, it also closes them.
I remember getting MMLP after school, sitting in my parents car with my big ass diskman listening to that cd and thinking wow.
Everyone should try to avoid Eminem crack fiending and have a Wow moment in 2013.
