The fact that Berzerk hasn't even been released here in the UK (his second biggest market) is enough to convince me a second single before the album drops is a certainty. Also no one watches BET here so any potential cypher would only boost North American hype. Internationally, Berzerk has done pretty shit.

It was due to be released 8th September (later than everywhere else anyway) but the date got pulled for some reason. There is literally no buzz at all here for the album, they NEED a big second single. A collab with Rick Rubin's good friend Adele would set the world alight with anticipation.

I really think you guys are overestimating these potential album sales. I've heard a few of you guys say platinum first week!!! No way in hell. Recovery only did 741,000 first week and it had a huge commercial radio-friendly lead single. MMLP2 has a decent, not amazing, first single that hasn't really generated that much buzz. And that's pretty much it so far. And if he's not releasing a 2nd single before the album drops (which seems to be what a lot of us here on TR are guessing will be the case) then what else will he have to boost sales? The cypher? It's pretty unlikely he's even doing that.
I swear, the marketing and promotion at Shady Records is fucking terrible. They have no idea how to generate hype for a project. I really hope I'm wrong tho. I'd fucking love to see Em do a million first week

The Real Slim shady hit the charts at #36 I believe. Berzerk #3. Mmlp sold over a million first week.

It's excellent. All of Marshalls real fans are buzzing.
All of his recovery fans were just on the band wagon, do you really want a bunch of sissys on board again anyway?

Be that as it may, remember that this is 2013. People download the absolute shit out of albums as soon as they leak and as much as we don't want to accept it, it does affect sales. Even for huge artists like Eminem. There's no way Em's selling 1mil first week. He needs to interact with the fans more....be on the road/perform the single at shows and shit.
