As a big fan of Kendrick...this is a different level. His Control verse was great, standout verse with extra hype from the name calling. But this was just shredding. Everything I want in a straight rap song. Dude can do any type of flow, interchangeably at any moment, rides the beat like a monster...and even when he speeds up he can keep his rhymes/punches complex. In my personal opinion, he covers every facet of great MCing.
And my opinion, now more than ever. I mean, have you seen Em recently being so diverse and at the same time perfect on every aspect (flow, voice, lyrics, rhyme scheme, content ..) in multiple ways, all of these in a single song ? He's back at the top of his game. And the rest of the album will confirm if he's going even higher.
