These lyrics are not good lyrics. That's a pretty decent chunk of the song. That, along with the beat, which is decent, but not a 9 or 10 beat.

Nobody is saying this. That's the point. I rated it based on how good of a song I thought it was. I didn't take the time (perhaps to a fault) to consider every other great song he has made first.

When someone asks me "Yo how good is Rap God?" I don't think..."well let me think about every other great Em song first." I just say how good I thought the song was. That's it.

I didn't think we were "placing" the song on his 'all-time' list. I thought we were just saying if it was a good song or not.

I know nobody isn't I was just pointing it out. I rated it 9 song wise not saying it's better or worser than any other track just rating it on how good it is because it's insane. People keep mentioning so you rated it 9/10 so you think it's better than Stan, Lose Yourself etc. As a track it is easily rated at 9/10 so I see were you are coming from.

I think we're just looking at the grading scale differently. I don't feel a need to make sure it's better than Stan before I say it is a very good song. The fact that he may have even better songs shouldn't hurt the "quality" grading for another completely separate song. If it's a 9/10 song then it's a 9/10 song.

Now, if I'm mistaken in the point of the thread and it is to say: "rate Rap God according to the rest of Eminem's great songs" then I might agree. But as I said before...when a new movie comes out, and someone asks me to rate it according to its quality, I don't think, "Well let me think of the rest of the movies Christopher Nolan has made...". I would just tell them how good the movie was. Different mentalities though.

What if I say Rap God is a perfect 10 when it comes to lyrical songs and flows....
But Stan is a perfect 10 when it comes to story telling?

I'm not sure what you are trying to get across. We are rating Rap God as a track, not saying it's better than any other tracks from previous albums, as a track it is easily rated a 9 that doesn't mean we are saying it's better than Stan because it's not we are just rating it as a track.

I don't give a shit about Stan or any other song when rating Rap God. Rap God is for all intents and purposes a perfect track (the "looking boy" shit is hilarious, imo), so I'm not going to rate it lower just because Stan exists.

Youre comparing apples to oranges. This isnt a lose yourself type song to make people get off the couch and do something with their life. This is straight hip hop with ridiculous flows, lyrics, and an amazing beat. Lose yourself and stan are in their own category. Never heard anyone rap that fast before while delivering it as good as he did.
