Don't get it twisted, SSLP is a good album, but it's no MMLP, it's no TES, it's no Relapse.

This is why I continue to say/believe Relapse is hugely overrated on this forum.

Well, in my opinion he hasn't topped most of the songs on SSLP since his return. I'll be more than happy if MMLP2 it half as good tbh. Yes, it's true that TES had songs like Drips and SWYS, but MMLP2 has Survival, which is, in the best case, slightly better. And SSLP's weakest song is My Name Is, which is still a classic. And btw, every song on it>>> Berzerk and Survival (not hating, I like these songs too).

Stans are in denial because of one reason and one reason only. The nostalgic feeling we all have with his first 3 albums. It's the album most of us got introduced to Em and it's like a universal "hip hop opinion". Imo it's the same like saying Pac is not top5. You are automatically gonna get bashed for that, and the only reason is because it's popular to put him into the top5. Sure, there is no doubt that he was amazing, and by no means am I saying SSLP is bad or shit. But Em is able to top it.

I'm not saying that he can top songs like As the world turns or SDGAF, even though I think he can but that's a different story. I'm talking about the album as a whole. Rap god already shits on a lot of his stuff from his prime

I don't listen to SSLP a lot tbh. Besides of Guilty conscience, '97 Bonnie & Clyde, Role Model, Rock Bottom, Brain Damage, JDGAF and SDGAF (some of my favorite songs ever btw). If Relapse didn't top it, it was very very close.

In my opinion, if every tracks left on MMLP2 are as mindblowing as Rap God, it could very well top SSLP AND Relapse. But what are the odds ?

Anyway, people should be a little more objective with the SSLP, it's a Hip Hop classic for sure, but untouchable ? Nah, not sure about that. He did better than SSLP twice in a row. Then you got Pillinem's Encore, then Relapse which was way too different to compare (but absolutely genius) and finally Recovery. And for the first time, Em want to go back to his roots, basing on his prime. MMLP and TES are way too fantastic and legendary to be topped, it's not realistic. But SSLP ? He can do it. He almost did it once. But I'll say it again, the other tracks on MMLP2 have to be at least as good as Rap God and must have the same replay value as Relapse. Which is gonna be tough
