The fact that a song like this was released as a single might be the reason. This song, and specifically its lyrics (There are literally headlines like "read eminem's amazing Rap God lyrics) are getting so much buzz that it sticks out. He said way worse shit on certain parts of Relapse and some of Recovery, but not on any songs that had this much buzz. That's my theory at least.

Rap God has such a worldwide buzz that everyone is listening so the people that normally ignore Em are having to listen again. Then when they listen they get outraged and cant control themselves, they go and make stupid articles trying to get people to hate the song. They have fallen fair and square into Slim Shadys trap. I try to respect everyones right to do as they please. Therefore I dont discriminate or anything else. I am not religious yet when I am approached by religious people I politely deny them conversation or just walk away. I cant talk with idiots.
In saying that: Being homosexual, as normalised as it is and how politically correct we have to be is in no way fucking normal. Its not natural and is not the biological agenda our bodies are programmed for. Homosexuals are mentally wrong, they have their wires crossed. Homos are mentally ill people. Every single other mental impairment gets treated with therapy and drugs but this one passes through.. fuck humanity and its fucked up social structure.
