like Aged Wine, eminem is only consumed by pretentious old white males that assume themselves to be more important to the world than they are

Here's you in another thread, mocking the lack of creativity of another poster for using a message board cliche (insulting someone by misquoting them): viewtopic.php?f=3&t=157216&p=2375567#p2375567

And here you are in this thread doing the same thing.

eminem's rapping has improved if we look at his ability to put words together but his creativity has declined, he's worse at choosing the words he puts together.

I don't know if I would say "Improving", but so far I think Rap God is the best song we have got since his hiatus IMO. Like Alchemist said about the new album, something like "I can't say much but we are getting what we want, he is back to being Eminem". Not saying that he ever stopped being Eminem, he's just going back to making the music his core fans grew up listening to instead of the mass appeal songs like LTWYL and Not Afraid.
If you had one shot, or one opportunity, to seize everything you ever wanted, would you capture it? Or just let it slip?

Yeah, because rapping faster = better.

Eminem started out a speed rapper in Soul Intent.

Agreed. He hadn't recorded a verse at that speed since Soul Intent but by comparison he mastered it since then. Fast rapping wasnt what he was known for, but with rap god, a show of his talent, well he went and done gone show urrbuddy whats up.

All he can really do now is rap fast about nothing. Sounds pretty cool at times...but that's it.

Um, he had some very good things to say in this song.

I love how whenever Em does something particularly well...certain people always have to act like that is "all" he can do. When he put out Relapse "all he could do" was say fucked up shit and rhyme well 'just because you can rhyme doesn't mean your songs don't suck because of the shitty accent'. When he put out Recovery people acted like "all he could do" was make pop records these days and that he mostly lost his ability to make great, hard rap records, all he did was make popular rap songs. Now Rap God releases and apparently now "all he can do" is rap fast about nothing. Don't act like these crowds didn't exist either.

If we piece together all of the "complaints"...

He can rhyme really well and tell dark stories/say dark shit
He can make substantial emotional songs that are relatable
Can make radio-friendly hit singles
He can rap fast as fuck and remain complex with crazy flows

To me these complaints are not complaints at all haha it makes him look good as fuck. It's just that to make him look bad you just isolate whatever it is he is doing well at the time and say that's all he's good at haha. Just because he hasn't made some insane mix of all four of those doesn't mean his ability to do the other just...disappears. It's as if unless he did something yesterday then he never showed he could do it at all.

I think that's the thing that people would say is his problem that he's had since after Relapse. Relapse followed a concept he had for the album, so the constant killer theme gets a pass here I think.

However, after that a large portion of songs have been about nothing, essentially. Then, the ones that were about something, it wasn't something to particularly care about. Either that or he runs an idea into the ground. Relapse gets a pass again here because he had his serial killer concept album, then moved on. Now it's just about not being a gentlemen and that he's "back and better than ever." Seriously? You're going to keep talking about how you're on the come up for three years? It's like he's been frozen in time for three years. It's like in the movie The Fighter when Dicky would just ramble on and on about his comeback.

As much as I like "Rap God" because I get what he was going for in this track, the only thing that I hope he carries throughout the rest of the album is the rhyming capabilities. I can't take another album of "Hey guys don't forget how good I can be and I'm still trying to prove it to you" and "I spilled coffee on a bitches blouse today and didn't say sorry, lol I'm so evil."

I think the "that's all he can do" point is completely valid with him now. He seems to not switch up his style until people complain that they're over it. From 2010 until this past Monday we thought "all he could do" was shout all the time. When you get three years of a delivery and concept that has grown stale, people start to doubt that there can be something else.
