Hip hop-Fucked up

Postby AspirinE » Sep 20th, '05, 21:51

I realized that hip hop is at its most hideous state its ever been

WTF is wrong with everybody :!:

The south is selling more records like crazy, they are fuckin trash
the only ppl that are worth something(being high class rappers) are
The Geto Boys
and Scarface of cource but even they aint reaching nowere near to Eastcoast
Now Eastcoast rappers are following these sellout trends and starts bringing crap to the streets
I remember back in the days when hip hop was about politics and streetknowledge, now its about wankstas and bitches

examples: Fuckin dipset , Fat joe, jadakiss, 50, and the one that suprised me most was PRETTY RICKY- those fucks are like the Backstreet boys of hip hop

i mean comon were praising ppl Like Kanye wen they aint eva gone reach the level of most of the oldschool cats

It freekin pisses me off ... there hasnt been one good album this year

Thank God the undaground is still hanging but hey aint getting paid so they might stop doing wat there doing pretty sooon

We needa go back to the basics
We neada start graffitying all around again
Bring back the B-Boy attitude
and the REAL HIP HOP BEATS(which nowadaysare rubbish thanks to the South)
and we need More metaphores and wordplay in lyrics

i love this whole topic right on, i agree that we need to get back to basics...we need A Tribe Called Quest, we need Arrested Development, we need Eric B. and Rakim, we need BDP(Boogie Down Productions)...i have no problem w/ the dirty south makin money and makin music people can dance in the club to, but its like people are sayin Hip Hop is going to a different perspective, when really Hip Hop is becoming something so played out. but i still hold on to my opinon that Common's "Be" was the only good Hip Hop album of the year, i hate to even say it but everyone at Shady/Aftermath and dont forget G-Unit are one of the lables that havent graced us w/ solid albums that we can play and play and play all day long. i'm sick of gettin Hip Hop albums where i get so hyped for it and it turns out to to have a few good cuts and a few good tracks i.e Proof "Searching for Jerry Garcia". the whole battle scene oh this culture SHOULD stay alive, but right now everyone is taking shots at everyone its dumb, you even got actors goin at artists i.e. Money Mike(Friday After Next) vs. Young Gunz. The last battle that was worth my money was the whole Jay-Z vs Nas battle...that was a real battle, strickly kept on wax nothing more nothing less. Beef is gettin thrown around when people dont realize that beef is something you should cook up and eat. I'm not gonna say i wasnt to any of the beefs because i was, i fell into it, but its juss dumb now. The artists that is actually keeping the Hip Hop culture alive are the Underground Hip Hoppers, they dont get the recognition they need because everyone is so amped on "oh he said this, now he's gonna fire back and say this"...if you people that are reading this and you really are a Hip Hop fan and want badly to see what its all about check out some B-Boy jams, go around your town and stare at graffiti on the wall cuz its not vandalism its art, check out DJ battles, which also needs to be ressurected...go online and look for Hip Hop shows around your town and go and watch. dont wait for MTV or the radio to tell you whats really good, experience it for yourself. Hip Hop is still young, remember it juss came out in the early 80's..so Hip Hop is about the same age most of us are, so we gotta keep it from getting to a spot where most of us will turn away from it. I'm a HUGE Hip Hop head, i can actually say i stand in my B-Boy stance all day..Hip Hop in itself has taught me to be open minded about music, most of us are gonna have kids...do you want them listening to all this crap we and see nowadays?

i don't know too much about rap in 80', but sometimes i feel sick when i hear next 50 cent songs.. :? but i've heard a couple of older albums and i was impressed.. i'd like to hear smth like that now..
this year was not the best if we talk about released albums, but i think that Kanye's and Game's cd's were quite good..
We neada start graffitying all around again

no problem ;)

and we need More metaphores and wordplay in lyrics

that's true..

yeah you remember when they actually filmed their music videos ON the streets..like A Tribe Called Quest-Check the Rhyme. you know like block party type of vibe, now you cant have a video played w/out seeing someone in their new hot whip, or strip club or w/ blingin ass grillz. seriously the videos too nowadys are short movies.

ya. its jus that EVERY single one is like that. they don stand out anymore. em is lik tha very limited people who make songz an music videos we can relate to. the fancy cars n stuff seem like tha rappers r jus relating music to themselves if u kno wat i mean
