Next time make sure you make it sound like an opinion and not a fact. Couldn't care less if you like it or not. Definitely seemed that you stated it as a fact so I argued against.

Are we really having this? It's impossible to ever put fact behind music taste, obviously. If you feel a certain way about something, human behavior states it as; This is so and so.

Next time I'll put a huge IMO DISCLAIMER just for you, so it "sounds" like an opinion

Agreed. I love that verse. Numb is the only one that I don't like at all really. I've grown to like Throw It Up but I hate gangsta boo and Yella went harder then Em, he could have done much better.

StayWideAwake wrote:"Here's the thing. People want him to rap like he he did in his "prime". Anything else is fair game for criticism. Ok fine.

Personally...I want him to rap well. I don't need him to perfectly imitate his old style."

Trilla wrote:Uhh...that's basically you saying that him rapping like he did in his prime is him perfectly imitating his old style. Or am I out of context here?

I'm confused about the question to be honest. I'm saying that, as some has specifically requested, I don't need him to go back to "TES flows" for example to be satisfied. All I want is for it to be good rapping in general. No matter what creative direction he decides to take. Where is the confusion?

Trilla wrote:No one is waiting for Old Em to return we are past that stage hell we're lucky we're getting MMLP 2 my point is I want his flow to resort back to normal.

False. I can't possibly count how many times I've had to hear people whine that they want "old shady" back. I'm very happy for you that you have never had to hear that. The phrase "back to normal" is admitting you want it to go back to a place it previously was where you were more fond of it. You state people "want him to rap normally", and site his first 4 albums as evidence of its execution. Logically, your statements do imply that you want him to try to go back to his "old Em" flow. Unless we are to assume that his first 4 albums don't count as "old Em"?

Trilla wrote:I know what the point of Rap God was.

No, you don't. If you understood that it's purpose was to show off technical rap abilities you wouldn't be bitching about the fact that he is "running it into the ground" when it is the only song he has used it in out of the 3 singles we have gotten. Fuck...it's the only solo song he's used it in. He used it on some features, a few times on a joint EP and a cypher. He has never even fucking rapped like this on a single solo song I can think of. Using it on some features is not running it into the ground. Especially considering the fact that almost every time he has used it...fans like it. W2H, Cypher, Fast Lane. People that don't bitch all of the time usually like the songs he does it on. What is he gonna say..."people are loving these verses..yeah. Sounds like I shouldn't use it when I want to show off my rap abilities."

Trilla wrote:Did you even read my post? I'm not discrediting the song. I'm stating that it will get tiresome if he decides to override the double-time flow like he has been as of recently.

"Override the double time flow like he has recently". The problem with Em fans is you act like if he did something on like 6 songs he's been "running it into the ground" and shit. In the past 3 years, he's done that on what...5 songs off an EP dedicated to trying to rap as hard as they can...a cypher...and My Life? Yeah yo. All this Rap God shit has all been done before. We should chalk this up as a tired, gimmicky, unenjoyable song because he rapped kind of fast in like 6 songs in the past 3 years. If you say so.

Trilla wrote:Rapping fast = having skill? Man what a fucked up criteria.

"Did you even read my post?" I never said rapping fast automatically means it is good. You are delusional. If you think the only thing in this song that requires any rap ability is rapping fast then I shouldn't even been humoring this "debate". You can't even be serious. If you think the only thing he did right was say shit quickly...then I'm sorry but you either weren't listening, or don't know anything about technical rapping skills. That is actually all you heard....this is making more sense now...

Trilla wrote:Meh, it was enjoyable the first five listens.

Like I said...millions of people are praising the song. You getting tired of it and complaining means absolutely nothing about the song's showcase of skill and quality. Only a complete narcissist would take a universally praised song and cite their own boredom as evidence that it isn't that good.

Trilla wrote:"Conversational rap" ok now I know you didn't read my post.

For fuck's sake. Sorry. You said "conversational flows" and I said "conversational rap". Fuck me I guess.

The only arguments you have actually even attempted to make...are "I'm tired of it", "It's getting old", "I can't rap along with it", he needs to "go back to normal", "rapping fast=/=good". You are the epitome of a bitchy Stan. You make no points based on anything that isn't your own boredom of the song. You have absolutely no credible argument. Your whole premise consists of "I'm tired of it. Go back to normal".

well executed and logically thought out :b: :b: :b:
