People will always find something to bitch about. Em's always been good with simple beats. I could've done without the electronic shit (though it sounded absolutely FUCKING AWESOME when he got to the "hall of fame" part), but overall, I find it catchy.

Em and the beat go hand in hand in this song. Without the other, the song would crumble. The beat is awesome.

The beat lacks that "epic/godly" feel (wich Em's lyrics requires), but its not a wack beat like some of yall are saying. But, damn... Em' probably heard 90% of the beats Dre have ever produced and he claims Rap God is one the illest he have ever heard?! FOH!

I personally think Em hopped on this beat because of the satirical value too it. It does sound like a beat T.I. or Lil Wayne would use, but in a way with the beat and chorus he's kind of making fun of the current state of hip hop.

But nope. Anyone says their opinions and the get "HOW IS THIS NOT AWFUL, YOU DUMBASS" or "FUCK YOU IT'S GREAT".

The beat would be good without the sirens, but not amazing. Its a VERY simple beat underneath the electronic stuff and i like that. But to call it 10/10?!! "one of the best beats i ever heard" "amazing"?!! C'mon!! Lol i mean, Pharell was making beats like that in 2001 and people copying the "minimalist" style without even knowing what they doing shows how easy it is to mimic. Beat was nice and simple.

And then.... The sirens happened. :( they sound like the type of stuff young chop would think is creative!!! Sound cheap, clangy and generally get in the way. Fruityloops sounding garbage.

The beat started off dope with the piano and bass line, and I was like Ahhhhh shiiiiiiit. Then the sirens and synth shit started, and it lost me.

The beat drops what could have been a 8-9 out of 10 song to a 7 out of 10 for me.

Yeah, the first like twenty-six seconds of the beat are awesome. I wish it had stayed like that for the rest of the song.

I think even if it was just the piano and bass like in the beginning, then the synths and sirens during the hook and his yelling parts, it would have worked even better.

em's flow on rap god was awesome but i'm sick of people talking about it like nobody's ever rapped like that and used that many flows  it just makes the person saying it look like they've never listened to anything but mainstream/commercial garbage. because if that's the case then of course em's flow on the track is going to sound innovative :facepalm

jesus christ so much dick riding over flows that at least 3 artists over at strange could shit out in 1 studio session.

Ems flow is top notch, but his wordplay is on another level compared to those guys IMO. Even Tech.

But I agree Rap God is overrated by stans. It's a solid track IMO.

Surprised Em liked the beat THAT much @ 'one of the illest ever'...

But I like the beat. It's like dark and hypnotic...

I love the clean and crisp sound too. A world apart and galaxies better than Recovery prod.

@ Strange music...

Well... I agree that they could all rap very and as impressively (in terms of speed, structure etc.) / and that a lot of rappers could switch-up flows in the way he did...

But I think what sets Em apart is his delivery and voice acting / emotion. It's the delivery of say... angry lines, which genuinely sound angry, or comedic lines which sound animated and funny yet like... he's just a really good voice artist and really good at capturing his emotions and dramatic deliveries. And I don't think just anybody or any of them can do that, on his level.

I also think his wording is a little more unique though. He kind of raps like (not all the time, before somebody quotes some silly lines) - full sentences, like, as if he's in conversation; so I think that complex mix of realistic thought and how he executes it and yet still makes it so smooth and feel like a bouncy and concise rap performance is what elevates him.
