Okay, but why in the purple people eating fuck would William Shakespeare ever write Rap God? That's like saying Eminem sucks dick because he's not Maya Angelou, and fuck Maya Angelou because she's not Bob Dylan. You can't compare people who work in entirely different mediums. It's nonsense. I'm as big a stan as the next guy here (okay maybe not quite all of you, we've got some obsessive motherfuckers), but comparing any rapper to Shakespeare is absurd because it just makes no sense.

I realize you can't compare them based on their differing genres, however.. numbers are numbers, patterns are patterns, vocabulary is vocabulary, and rhymes are rhymes. Shakespeare would've never wrote Rap God, simply because he did not write Rap God. Could he have pulled out a pen and paper and written Rap God? Sure, who's to stop him? Just because it wasn't in the time or in his genre, doesn't mean there isn't the ability. What I'm saying is on a talent level, if you put the two against each other scholastically, I feel Eminem would blow him out of the water.

lol I'm mocking the comparison of people in completely different art forms by a standard they aren't both trying to achieve. Comparing rhyme schemes of a guy who's telling a detailed story verses a guy writing 16 bar verses is like comparing an artist's storytelling skills to a professional writer who doesn't have to work within a song structure. We can compare loosely, but we can't actually evaluate by the same standard.
