Homeboy Sandman is THE GOAT

Literally the best rapper I've heard in while, his flow is too raw :worship:

He's very talented but couldn't maintain that & kinda went to be honest... not G.O.A.T. material though.

What do you mean bro? He's been very consistent throughout his entire career and is still putting out awesome music. Sure it's not as good as his debut Nourishment(amazing album) but his music is still great imo. He's a G.O.A.T. in my eyes :b:

Most likely. He's done a lot of collabs with many artists although I havn't checked out the song he did with Clipse.

Like I said he's very talented... he had some buzz, did some noise or whatever when he came up but has been on the low ever since. I don't talk about quality 'cuz like you said he's been consistent if we talk about that but honestly I don't think he maintained his spot & went. I respect you opinion about him been a G.O.A.T. but to me a G.O.A.Tartist should be able to raise hell when he drops material too.

Ah ok, I understand what you're saying now. I was only talking about from a technical point of view, I don't judge an artist's GOAT status on his buzz or spotlight, but on skill and skill alone. He is underground after all though. If nobody else but me knew his name I'd still call him the greatest to ever do it.

Fair enough man... I respect your opinion.

You're have to agree with one thing though... when people talk about G.O.A.T. artists in Hip-hop it always includes continual impact as well 'cuz great artists have to be able to reach out & touch the masses... let alone to change things & all that.
I mean talking about rappers pure skills is one thing but calling them the greatest of all time definitely have to include a lot more than that.
There have been a lotta great rappers who've been underrated & under appreciated but lots of them have changed things in Hip-Hop or have been respected to the full by their peers & have influenced the younger ones but Sandman didn't even go there to be honest.
Mad respect to dude about his overall skills regardless though. :y:

Well I label him a GOAT mainly because he has the whole package of a complete rapper. He's got the lyrics down to a tee, amazing versatile flow, storytelling, vocabulary, charisma, mic presence, and most importantly music quality. He makes a song so catchy while at the same time doesn't sacrifice substance. That''s what I admire most about him. I do agree with the fact he hasn't made a huge impact on Hip Hop as a whole simply because he's underground and isnt' being pushed by a major record label like say Interscope. I'm sure if Homeboy wanted the fame and fortune like Em and Jay Z have, nothing would stop him. Glad we could agree on his skills though, dude is a monster :y:

Edit:Just wanted to add that I can see why you would factor a rappers impact on Hip Hop before labeling them a GOAT, and I respect that. We just have our own definition of what a GOAT should be and there is nothing wrong with that imo. I enjoyed this debate though :8)

True story, it seems the most talented rappers are unknown these days. I'm happy to have shared his material with this forum, and I'm betting every person who viewed this thread is a fan now haha.
