I like the lyrics and his smooth voice for most of the song. I don't like the beat, the chorus is a little catchy although really corny. I hate his pauses and feel they take away from a lot of the song.

Survival 6.5/10
Berzerk 7.5/10
Rap God 10/10
Monster 4.5/10

I don't think he knows exactly how to make MMLP era music anymore. It's all about mindset, he's matured, calmed down, raised 3 girls and been through hell. His viewpoint is now positive. That being said, I think this track is average but way better than LTWYL. That song just annoys the fuck out of me. The chorus was actually decent for Rihanna. Em's flow was good, so what's the problem? I think the problem is he called it MMLP2. Rap God is the only song out of 4 so far even remotely close to that vibe. This song felt like a bunch of rhyming words that were completely forgettable. I think that's why Relapse was such an awesome album, the lyrics were telling a story, even if it was fictional. I will not go so far to say this song sucks...but it was like watching a semi-bad movie on tv just because nothing else is on

I don't think Em has the greatest ear for the music anymore. I don't think he know when he sounds dope or not. IDK......

The problem is with the yes men, and he has A LOT of them.

Well yeah. But even on Recovery, he had plenty of dope songs on that album. Same with Relapse.

Idk what the fuck he's thinking right now to be honest. I hate sequels too, fucking naming this MMLP2. Should have just named it after one of the songs on the album. Maybe BERZERK is something, Idk.

I think I really have the lowest expectations for an Em album right now that I've ever had. His flows are all going to sound like this, and similar to his features in 2012. Book it.

I definitely don't hate the song. It's sort of strange to hear such a positive, up-lifting song from Em but it's actually growing on me.

Like it or not, this single adds 100K+ extra first-week purchases. I think it could be a huge hit on the radio.

All Em would need to do for everyone to start hailing him the greatest rapper alive and to get all his respect from those who've lost it for him is this....

make a fucking album with production from Em, Dre, Porter, and only go outside that for like Alchemist, No ID, Premier, or someone of that stature. Flow like he does on Underground, Ridaz, So Bad, Untitled, On Fire, Shady 2.0 Cypher, 2011 Westwood freestyle, Psycho, Going Through Changes, Seduction, etc. Have a few songs with deep content, and the rest just raw hip hop records.

I guarantee you everyone would eat that shit up and hail him the mother fucking man. No one would have shit to complain about.

But instead we're getting the iiiight all over the fucking place Berzerk, the Recovery throw aways Survival, and the biggest pop grasp and attempt at straight radio play in his whole career The Monster. Rap God is solid, a dope track. Nothing amazing, but his flow is incredible and as a song it's pretty good.

Why the fuck can't Em just make a hip hop album???

How people can hate Recovery and praise Survival and The Monster is beyond me.

Like it or not, this single adds 100K+ extra first-week purchases. I think it could be a huge hit on the radio, whether we like it or not.

But this song could potentially cost him 50k if the album doesn't leak. Some people are not sure because only RG met their expectations. This needs to leak and I believe Em's gonna deliver, like I said in the anticipation thread, one doesn't simply put out RG and then this song to bring us down, he's just trying to capture 2 different worlds.

I would agree 100%. His 4 singles are targeted at distinctly different demographics. If you don't think he cares about sales #s, you're delusional.

Now, for our sake, let's hope the rest of the album is most like RG

Well...you said something that is incorrect. How many fucking times must the man say it's not a sequel but just a revisit. He's not trying to recreate the MMLP era music anymore, Jesus Christ, that's not the point of the album.

A second-rate revisit? I would be and am generally happy with these songs, but I do not agree they should be under the MMLP moniker. That's like making a Batman sequel where he doesn't fight crime, it's just a look back at batman, but nothing to do with the point. Again, just my impression based on the singles. I have the album pre-ordered and will go in with an open mind but so far...no, I do not agree with the title
