No, let them continue on about how a 41 year old man should have the same mentality as a 26 year old. If you think the album is going to be bad off one song, you're fucking retarded. You haven't even heard the whole thing yet. Should he have called it MMLP2? Only time'll tell. No point in crying over it though, if you don't like it, you don't like it. And if you think the album will suck, then your journey ends here, and you can go back to your life until Eminem decides to release another album.

It's sad but this album will get murked by critics and fans.

I agree with you, he really shouldn't have called it MMLP2 but that doesn't mean this song is bad.

This :y:. I mean I get that the point of the title was a reflection on the MODERN day Marshall Mathers & his life situations etc. etc. But I mean really, man? Plus what he said in that snippet interview from RS I feel contradicts something like The Monster. It's so obvious that it was a push from the label and nothing more. Yeah, em may have liked it and it hit home for him, but I think if the label had less or little to no creative control over him, Shit like Monster and Survival wouldn't have made the cut.

I still have faith in my boy.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the songs eclipse what we've heard.

Plus look at the promo photos. Instead of holding his hand out to "help" you, he has devil horns. Calm down people and put your fears to rest.

Who wanted him to lyrically improve on Recovery?

How the fuck is overcoming the odds and battling the world in a headstrong, passionate way MMLP anything? This is Recovery!

MMLP mindset is 'fuck everything, including myself', everything is a joke, everything is up for grabs; "Rap God" displays this... "The Monster" has a place in 2011.

It's actually a really good song though, listen to the lyrics.

Real talk, and the song serves its purpose. We'll hear the rest of the album and cry because it's so good. Koolo was right because the verses are 10/10 and that's probably what he meant. Get over it and grow up, like Em did, guys.

Common sense, apparently, isn't all that common...

Eminem cares about being relevant. Eminem cares about sales. Why the FUCK wouldn't he? I don't get why people think he's some God where he doesn't have to answer to the label when he's a normal human being who works for the label, just like any other talent there. He has a contract and rules just like everyone else. The song's doing its job. It's crystal clear to me that Interscope is definitely aiming for that milli first week sales. This is the way they're going about it.

Everyone did.

This is not Recovery to me. No matter what the beat sounds like, the STYLE is MMLP2. Not MMLP but MMLP2. MMLP2 is supposed to be Eminem's MMLP for 2013. I don't see what's so hard to understand, you're looking too much into this.

Eminem WANTS this album to sell well and there's nothing wrong with that.

You don't actually seem to understand MMLP. The point of the album is not "fuck everything." Eminem does exhibit that attitude on the album, but that's because it was his worldview at the time. The album is focused on the life and thoughts of Marshall Mathers, thus making it the Marshall Mathers LP. MMLP 2 is focused is focused on the same thing, but Eminem has changed drastically in the past thirteen years so obviously the music and ideas will be different.
