I loved the album. Eminem spit his fire back in the day. I think he now realizes it isn't about that anymore. He already proved how good he was. MJ doesn't play anymore but he's still the greatest.
I think he now sees that hip-hop has a chance to evolve into a worldwide, vast and colorful artform, and this album is sure to stretch the envelop and push that frontier. He's more concerned with changing the game now. He's already the best selling artist in the genre by an ABSURD margin.
Edit: People didn't like it when the beatles switched up their style 10 years into their career either and said it was the end of them, but then that new style just ended up molding rock for the next 20 years.
