I really enjoyed it.
I think every song serves its purpose but if I had to choose one iffy song, it'd be "Survival". I love the verses and the hook, but musically it kind of sticks out more than I'd like. That being said, I'm aware the file I downloaded isn't the clearest of quality so I'll wait until I hear the album from the CD to see if it's a bit smoother transition.
I've said this to others, but I feel like this album managed to capture that sort of whimsical mystical aura that his first four albums captured - that's right, even Encore had that "Eminem" feeling to it. Relapse and Recovery are very enjoyable albums to me, but they sort of feel disconnected from his discography. You can tell he did take time with this album like he said because musically, it's quite obvious. Flows very nicely and his lyricism is so.fucking.sharp.
It's still early, but I'm basically gonna say it's probably right behind his first three albums.
I agree. I know we've had out differences and some hate me on here, but I agree 100%.
It's clearly better than his last 3 IMO, but not quite as remarkable as his first three.
