"I do understand people being defensive of a song and its original form, but I have to say - I love the re-working of "Time Of The Season" into "Rhyme Or Reason" on Eminem's new album .... I love the energy, the invention; the way that Eminem constantly uses words and phrases from the original song as springboards to take off into all sorts of different areas - sometimes inverting the sentiments completely, always weaving complex patterns with fantastic wordplay (and often in a way that's very funny) - and always full of life! I love "There's no rhyme and no reason for nothing" being in sound so close to "It's the time of the season for loving" while being at the same time pretty much the total antithesis of the original phrase in meaning. It absolutely mirrors the song while at the same time sending it tumbling into a different universe!

It has become a TOTALLY different work of art, rather than being, for instance, a limp cover. And that's its strength. It doesn't in any way threaten the original song or the original record! Rod x"

SSLP > TES imo.

I'm on a boxing forum too, and a lot of guys there think SSLP is better than it. Still, I think TES and MMLP are his best.

MMLP2 is a good, very good, but doesn't touch the first three, and that's COMPLETELY OKAY. It's hands down his best since TES.

I liked Recovery first few listens too, and I still do, but I like this one even more aside from two tracks.

But the thing about his first three....no weak tracks below a 6 at the worst. IMO.

I finally listened for the first time to the standard version of the album. It's pretty weird, but I can't wait to hear it again, properly, once it comes out. The thing that stood out to me the most is how different the song structures are and the high focus on storytelling instead of punch lines compared to Recovery.

i said the same on first listen, I was like "Damn This is trash, All the Songs Sound the Same", It was weird to me and i didn't even notice what the songs were about, Every chorus Sounded So alike but around the 3rd listen i had totally changed opinion and saw how unique each song was

Only song I legitimately can't stand on here is Asshole. The verses aren't the problem at all. It's that FUCKING HOOK. Jesus. Skylar ruined that shit for me. Not to mention the beat is trash compliments of Alex da Twat. Coulda been a badass song if the beat actually had some passable drums and a better written chorus. Oh well.

Not complaining though. The rest is stellar.

yeah i was worried about that, i got expedited shipping, and i havent gotten an email saying its been shipped. Its supposed to arrive on nov 5th if you got expedited shipping
