Yeah, I think that if we heard it for the first time together with the other tracks a lot of people would put it in their top 3 tracks on the album.

The thing I love about this album is not only the production and the lyrics, but the density and complexity of em's rhymes. Relapse was insane lyrically, but low on content. Recovery was a very meaningful album, but the lyrics, wit, and wordplay took a backseat. This album sacrifices nothing and gives you a definitive and comprehensive look into the mind of Marshall Mathers, which is what the original did as well.

This album is truly a master of his craft on top of his game. Thats why I'd put this on the same pedestal as TES and SSLP no doubt, and while it'll never have the insane social and cultural impact the original MMLP did (nothing ever will, really) in terms of quality of the album in my opinion MMLP 2 is creeping towards being as good as MMLP 1 the more i listen to it and catch things. Agree or disagree, but MMLP 2 is truly a labor of passion and an incredible piece of hip-hop history.

Time will help balance all that back out and we will see how Rap God fairs on people's lists after some time passes. I still think it's dope and I'm able to appreciate all the singles MORE with them in their place on the album. :y:

in this album i miss another "rap god" style. fast spittin´and so on. over the second listening i realized how amazing this album is^^ the best are legacy, evil twin, bad guy and baby IMO. the classic beats are wonderful but the hook scares me sometimes (rhyme or reason/asshole)

I think Rick Rubin really helped the album. The songs he produced helped give it a older Eminem but still fresh sound, and I think he got Eminem back on his shit IMO. Or maybe Em did it all himself.

But I'm starting to think Em should start doing sequels because his biggest thing to live up to, he delivered a pretty damn good album. Stay tuned for 2015-2016, Slim Shady LP 2.

Just playing of course. But it will be interesting to hear where Em goes from here.

OMG, you guys... This old construction worker was fixing some shit in my kitchen and all of the sudden his phone starts ringing. Guess what song he chose as his ringtone? Fucking 'Monster'. :laughing:
