It would be nice if he rapped back in the 2001-2003 era with one consistent flow and no pausing.

nah man, hes without doubt moved past that recovery and bme punchline rap, this is on a new level, hes totally chilled out on the punchlines on this album

I'm reading this book titled "Mastery" by Robert Greene, same dude who wrote "48 Laws Of Power"

Anyway, the book is basically about finding your gift, and maximizing it. Using your full potential. Being able to channel your creative mind whenever you want as opposed to falling into writers block and waiting for inspiration to strike.

I've only read the first chapter so far, but I believe there's 3 stages. The first is discovering what your gift is, the second is understanding the gift, experimenting with it, seeing what works and what doesn't, getting a complete understanding of how it works, and then finally mastery, where you don't even have to make an effort, you just completely dominate your field.

I couldn't help but think of Eminem. It feels like he's achieved mastery. He's displaying, at 41, flows and lyrical structure that rivals and often embarrasses some of his best work in his 20s and 30s.

The Relapse/Recovery era felt like he was working on something but he wasn't quite there yet.

MMLP 2 feels like mastery from a lyrical standpoint. Obviously we're gonna have different opinions on what songs are good and which aren't, from a sonic stand point. Some beats and choruses are gonna turn some off, etc etc but from a purely lyrical stand point, some of the stuff on this album is ridiculous.

The last verse on Bad Guy would be enough to embarrass me if I was a fellow rapper.

Me being a stan i've always Said that Eminem is the best In every part, Influence, flow, lyrics and stuff but From a non-Stan point of view i just can't say i'm wrong, Eminem is literally a million Levels above people, Like talking lyrically eminem just murders, Even if someone is a hater they just can't deny that, the lyrics can maybe even not mean anything but its just so insanely ridiculous how he can rhyme the way he does

I sometimes feel the way he described in the "something from nothing" interview when he said the stuff about naughty by nature, you know? i sometimes write shit so complicated or so emotional and then BOOOM! Mmlp2 drops and i feel like shit... I then notice its eminem, and i just can't feel bad for that, cuz everyone has to accept the amazingly huge talent he has

Guys so I visited another forum... Please i honestly just don't know how to respond to this guy can someone help please. Please use simple language this guy is possibly about 12 years old.

"lmao this kid trying to talk down to me. I know thrice as much about hip hop as you do, son.

I don't expect him to be the exact same person he was in 2000. I also don't expect him to call his album MMLP2 and make it the exact opposite of the first. SSLP and MMLP is what made Em famous, making a sequel to those albums and putting pop singers and sappy instrumentals is like a slap to the face. oh, and the wordplay wasn't even that great. He has good flow, but are you seriously calling this album great with lines like "They say I rap like a robot so call me rap-bot"?

I thought yeezus was pretty good, not amazing, but I enjoyed it a lot more than mmlp2."

I hate how often he does the deep voice sound effect lately (like the word "Danish" on Fast Lane). It's way overdone on MMLP2.

I absolutely agree though, it shouldn't have been called MMLP2

It was fine there because he was chloroformed. It kinda gives that slow, drugged out feeling which is good there. He does it all over the album though and it gets annoying imo
