That's the opinion of most rap fans, actually.

Fair enough I guess. I don't dislike it, just I don't put it up as high as most of you guys do haha

I know how much he contributed, I don't personally love his music hahha

Of course... Dre was part of or brought like at least 4 gigantic multi plat acts before he signed Em plus his production list is second to none.

Of course... he released one of the best hip hop albums of all time with The Chronic.

hip hop would be fine without Eminem, but it wouldn't be the same without Dr Dre, he is one of the most influential hip hop artists of the 90's and he is still very important right now.

Say what you will about Dr. Dre, but he has not failed when he truly finds an artist and pushes them. He does not miss when he goes for it. I think he gave a lot of rappers the cold shoulder (especially Bishop Lamont) but thats because he only accepts greatness.

All the debut albums released under aftermath are praised as classics:

The Slim Shady LP - Eminem
Get Rich Or Die Tryin - 50 Cent
The Documentary - The Game
Good Kid Maad City - Kendrick Lamar

These 4 artists wouldn't be where they are without Dre. People complain about his output and his lack of beats, but he is that guy behind the scenes taking these dudes to levels they never dreamed of.

Love both Dre's albums, no one makes albums like that anymore, i think the "Chronic" along with Snoops "Doggystyle" are two of the most essential albums to own in the Hip Hop genre!

I know, Dre was the "Gangsta rap pioneer", just saying that wont ever be albums like that anymore...maybe thats the reason "Detox" keeps getting delayed, maybe its not on the same level as the last two?! Who knows..

Well there were many gangsta rappers back in the day... & Dre & the rest of N.W.A. were the definition of that... speaking of it that is easily one of the 3 greatest groups of all time.

I was talking about the style & the beats Dre had in his solo albums which were the perfection of that G-Funk. Dre's second phase of his career at Death Row was unique just like his first with N.W.A. & like the third...Aftermath.
