BTW, the misogyny/homophobia on MMLP 2 seems tongue in cheek almost to the point of, I dunno, self-parody.
Anybody else feel the same?

It always has been. That's the point.

It's dumbfounding how many people still don't get Eminem...

And it's not like he's overly complicated. He works wonders with words but if you think of him as a comedian vs. a real man's opinion through lyrics (though his shtick is to intentionally try and provoke, confuse and blurr that line of course)... it's not complicated.

People are just so used to music being so personal, and also aren't used to comedic music being done so seriously. Most 'funny' music is usually novelty or shit. Eminem was/is... but, mostly was... a true rarity to make music which was brilliantly comedic/ironic yet also lasting, memorable music.

Gervais sums it up best.

Those fucktards at Pitchfork should hit him up for advice on how to understand art.
