(OFFICIAL) Kanye vs Kendrick vs Eminem (HERE)

Postby Eedee » Nov 8th, '13, 09:20

So that one thread got to 7 pages (and counting) of nothing but arguing about these artists' albums. So instead of derailing that topic any further, just use this one.

So.... fucking argue about it here, ight? This thread is official because it says so in the title. :coffee:

Enjoy yourselves.

GKMC is so horrendously overrated that I can't stand it anymore. Awful hooks, stupid voices, and I just don't enjoy the overall sound of the album. All it has is the story which is very good, but it doesn't make up for the flaws

Em - GOAT
Kendrick - Very talented artist, one of the best in 10 year imo...
Kanye - stupid untalented fuck.

Kendrick's body of work just can't compare to a fucking 15 year veteran who started his major label career with arguably 3 classics in a row. When Kendrick makes a Lose Yourself type of song or any kind of song that shakes the music industry as a whole as opposed to a guest verse that shook twitter for several days, we'll talk. He has potential but comparing him to Eminem at all, old Em, current Em, future Em comes off as embarrassing and I question the age of anyone actually trying to make a case for that at all. Let Kendrick do his thing and grow and make comparisons to them later on down the road.

Kanye had the potential initially to have a solid body of work but abandoned what made him great in the beginning.

He actually convinced himself and his fans that any weird shit he makes is not actually weird shit but genius art so ahead of its time it isn't funny. What you end up with is 808s and Yeezus.

I think he legit believes Yeezus is his best album and will continue to put out weird experimental niche shit that his stans will force themselves to like but as a whole will water down his discography in the eyes of real hip hop heads.

I'm assuming this thread was also not about actual rap skills and is more about discography because, come on.

Eminem is 10 times better rapper than Kanye. But Kanye fans use his production as their strongest argument over and over again. Fuck the production if the lyrics are not good.

This mononym`s post is the thing that bothers me the most on this forum. If someone else typed that, but about Eminem, not Kanye-he would be called a deluded, retarded stan, the worst kind of fan that blindly likes everything Eminem puts out. But, when a Kanye stan does that, he is not deluded. He is just an open minded art lover that transcends genres and music...blah, blah, blah...

That is what I hate. Be a Kanye fan, paint his face on the front of your house, get hiss name tattooed on your balls, I don`t care. But stop acting like being a Kanye fan is better than being an Eminem fan.

Kanye is nowhere near the rapper that Em and K. Dot are lmao. Em is GOAT, K. Dot is the next GOAT, and Kanye is the grass that the GOATs eat.

I never called myself a hip hop head.
My point: When you praise Eminem-you are a deluded stan. But it`s ok to praise Kanye. When Kanye makes a bad album-he is experimenting, the world is not yet ready and my personal favourite-he transcends the genre. When Em makes a bad album-he just sucks.

GKMC is overrated. Great, possibly a classic, but overrated. Section 80 is better.

MMLP2 is good. Solid. It just has too many flaws to reasonably be in the "album of the decade" category. To me, the thing which holds it back the most is the recycled content. Aside from Headlights (which sucks as a song to me) Eminem only finds new ways of saying the same thing.

YEEzus is a good idea that was horribly executed. Black Skinhead SOUNDS good even though it is experimental. So does Blood on the leaves. But all those Jamaican accents thrown in and random electronic sythns just sound awful.

808 and heartbreak had a very very strong opening 4/5 songs. After that, it disintegrated and obviously Kanye was not thinking straight. Love Lockdown? That ain't nothing special. Its cool, i like listening to it, but don't mean i gotta deify it like the greatest shit ever. Robocop. C'mon. Wack.

And just because a song/ album has influenced hip-hop don't mean it was good. Soulja boy is responsible for doggie/ snap and every wack dance craze inbetween. Influential, but wack.

you're completely missing the point

a)i wasn't even addressing you in that post
b)not every argument is meant to dismiss someone as a stan
c)when i call people "deluded stans" it probably has nothing to do with their actual opinions
d)i'm pretty sure people call me a deluded kanye stan, i'm in an eminem forum that tends to be anti-kanye for the most part, which brings me back to d1)what you're saying is wrong d2)does it really matter that much

We're not anti-Kanye. At least most of us aren't. I'm not. But I'm anti-bullshit and can admit that Kanye has average lyrics behind great production...that's it. If production makes someone a better rapper then I suppose Rick Ross is a better rapper than Eminem too?

Hell, Kanye is one of my favorite rappers actually. But come on son. Yeezus is your FAVORITE Kanye album? Out of all the good shit he has put out, you really think Yeezus is his best?

Hey, opinions are opinions. I just don't want to hear shit about believing Relapse > SSLP in that case. But I'll hear it anyway. In a "hip hop head"'s mind, saying Yeezus > all the rest of Kanye's albums is just like saying Relapse > SSLP. It would be better if you wouldn't be so hypocritical about all of this...

I didn't say that to annoy you but to make a point. I say hypocritical because you are constantly shitting on Eminem and his fans then suddenly get all defensive when the conversation turns to Kanye.

I know we discussed it before, I was just reinforcing what I was saying...that it's odd that you find Yeezus to be his best. If Yeezus is Kanye's best because he experimented then MMLP2 is Em's best because he's experimenting...see what I'm saying? Both sides of the argument are practically the same.
