Yo, the saga begins, my eyes is the photography lens
Properly push pens, and show quality gems
The horrors be grim, but yo maybe tomorrow we win
If we follow the trends and keep count of the dollars we spend
I want a mahogany Benz, I want lottery ends
I want property, friends, plus my hobby is skins
If I decide we in sin, then my prophesy ends
But the God'll begin, watchin my odyssey spin
in the place where war be, based on a true story
Territory was made for me to pursue glory
Blast alone masses in zones have to be sewn
Every capacity blown, I'm internationally known, yo

I heard Eric B left Rakim cause he was so embarrassed to perform with such an amateur Emcee while Kool G Rap was releasing records

Then, uh, what! Bread ridiculous, heads want a whiff of this
Glad for hypocrites layin back and triple this
Model heads hollow heads and the nickel fifth
When I juggle fuck a double nigga flip with chips
Sets I cripple this let a nigga nipple kiss
The scene'll hit or miss I'll show you where you ticklish
The more iceyed out need to bang your wifey out
You think your personal attacks make up for what you lack?

I'm pretty sure he was making fun of ronnie missing rhymes. Just look at Ronnie's post.

I enjoy Rakim more than I do G Rap.

G Rap for me, I prefer G Rap + DJ Polo's albums over Eric B and Rakim's, plus I think G Rap's "solos" were better than Ra's

Shit, this thread just reminded me that I haven't heard Live & Let Die in years :o

That album is awesome, it's aged really really well.

Indeed bro :y:

I think it's aged better than any of Ra's projects, same applies to 4,5,6

I've said it before but Rakim's solos are better than his Eric B records if we're talking from a rap perspective. If you like the classic sound of the Eric B records by all means I support that but I genuinely think Rakim was one of those rarer rappers that got technically better and better throughout his career.

the 18th letter is rakim's best solo album imo the rest weren't as good imo
