Honestly Biggie isn't that technical or lyrical (but he is a great storyteller) but, to use a sports metaphor, he just has incredible intangibles. His mic presence is incredible. Whenever he starts rapping you know it and you listen to what he has to say and you believe it. Biggie is one of my GOATs because of his ability to completely take over a track and own it. His flow is god like and his delivery is perfect for his style. Pac is boring to me and doesn't have any of these factors in his music although on paper he is much better than Big.

The Don Killuminati was a bad ass album.

even though pac is considered the goat by many he so underrated as a lyricist he don't get the credit imo in that regard

As in pure lyricism and skill? It's obviously Biggie and there's no contest. Biggie was more of an MC while Tupac was more of a poet. What Tupac is SAYING is what makes him a GOAT but Biggie was just honestly a more skilled MC. Sorry.

Skill set obviously goes to B.I.G. no doubt. He's top 3 lyrically ever.

People confuse lyricism so much these days, lyricism isn't just rhyming a bunch of words and using metaphors, schemes, multis and wordplay but a lyricist can say something u remember years and years later like 2pac.

2pac had that spark he has lines and quotable's for days that rappers still repeat to this day.

But Biggie didn't rhyme just to rhyme. He made sense a whole lot.

Well I could have meant anything by that though lol.

Yeah, I was speaking mainly about rhymes and punchlines but I do believe that Biggie was a better overall lyricist than Pac as well...Pac had the songs, the memorable lines, the emotion and passion. But I'm speaking on Biggie and Pac's skills as MC's. In a straight up rap battle, tear you limb from limb with lines, I believe Biggie would annihilate Pac...I love me some Tupac lol but I like Biggie slightly better.

OP isn't biased at all :y:

edit: no but seriously, biggies flow was incredible. he wasn't as descriptive lyrically but you could rock to his shit like no other artist at the time, and it stayed that way for a while. He pioneered beat-riding imo, whereas pac used beats moreso to set the tone.

Tupac had the passion, the storytelling and the emotion.

But Biggie had the straight up lyrics, rhymes, flows. Biggie was an MC in the purest sense. Tupac was more of a poet.

Ok, so how does that make "Biggie better than Pac at lyricism" while you said "it's no contest" that's the reason why i said in my first post that people confuse lyricism so much these days and that lyricism isn't just rhyming a bunch of words and using metaphors, schemes, multis and wordplay but a lyricist can say something u remember years and years later like 2pac.

You are literally telling me the differences between the two with the post above and not saying why Biggie is a better than Pac, like I said and always will say that I'm a huge Biggie fan but I mean that in general towards any artist how people confuse lyricism.

Well, WHY one is better than the other is completely up to the listener. I like rhymes, technical skill, and mic prowess.

To me, it's really no contest. It's a contest to you. That's fine.

Opunyuns. :flutter:
