Yeah it has its moments... solid overall like I said. Not enough repeat value for me though.

Even Gazing at the Moonlight is significantly more entertaining doh.

We always know we're kinda kidding ourselves when we say one of the 'better' instead of 'best' too.

Gazing at the Moonlight and RAW songs all had character and were distinct from each other.

On Knock Madness... so many intros to songs, and flows and shit, sound similar and boring. Just feels like a really tough ride to get through instead of a shit load of enjoyable tracks.

Tears To Snow, Dream Forever, Caught In The Rain are some of my favorites. Their hooks are just fucking great.

Hopsin's a respectable guy...he just tries to rap well. If you watch him in his interviews, he's completely down-to-earth. Doesn't feel the need to act n*ggerish (yo, yo, yo, you frontin', nigga) and doesn't really put on an act like most rappers.

The problem with this album, and the problem with Hopsin in general, is his situation. He's independent...he does everything himself. He makes all the beats, mixes/masters them (which takes forever), and shoots his own music videos. He needs to be able to afford all this shit, so he has to go on the road...which leaves virtually no time to work on lyrics.

And that's the gaping flaw of this album. The lyrics are just completely fucking boring.

I think Hopsin would benefit from being signed to a major label. He needs a bunch of monkeys to shoot his music videos, promote his stuff, and handle all the boring shit...so all he has to do is just sit and write lyrics. That's the luxury that Eminem was taking full advantage of early on.

I guess the problem at that stage is getting the label to stay the fuck away from your album and not allowing them to compromise it...a problem Eminem used to resist in the early stages but now seems to have given up on.

Good point on the intros, I feel he did those far too much too.

Here's a vague first listen review somewhat.....

The Friend's are Knocking - Loved the emotion and self awareness in the second half of the song. Saying sometimes he think's he's whack and how long it has taken etc.

Hop Is Back- Since this dropped I've only listened about three times but I think the beat is really fresh and am digging it now.

Who's There- Move to aussie.....as an aussie I found it funny how he phrased that. Didn't really like the hook on this song, might need more time....not sure.

Tear to Snow- I liked the beat to this song, the emotion was a bit over the top for me in parts though. Once again I thought the hook was a bit weak.

Rip Your Heart Out- I really liked Hop's flow on this and thought he did pretty good. Tech wasn't that great imo but I've only listened to this twice so far.

Nollie Tre Flip- This song almost didn't sound like a Hop song to me and parts actually reminded me of House of Pain in Jump Around, good to see a bit of variety here.

Gimmie That Money- First thoughts on intro reminded me of Get Lucky by Daft Punk haha. Different production, hook was a bit meh but I really liked the vibe of the song. That Nikki Minaj sounding voice again haha he could do a seriously good impersonation of her.

I Need Help- Another Australia reference haha. So far I'm getting worried that there's not many concepts.....

Hip Hop Sinister- Liked the intro, haven't heard him this loud before. Sounded pretty good.

Good Guys Get Left Behind- Pretty corny sounding first listen but I guess he said it's for the girls....

Bad Guys Get Left Behind- Wasn't too bad. Nothing has really stood out yet for me though.

Old Friend- I honestly think it's a bit cheap that he released this as an Ill Mind, didn't think it fit. Not a bad song, can relate to some degree, a close mate got a bit messed up in that shit too.

Still Got Love For You- Another hook I don't really like. Beat sounded alright but not a fan of the content.

TBH couldn't be bothered doing the rest....wasn't impressed by much really.....

I like this album but there is one thing I hate about Hopsin. In almost every song, he has to quote what someone is saying to him in a gay ass voice
"Hopsin I heard that....."
"Hopsin Im your biggest fan and I......"
And shit like that. Why does he do that on almost every song? Man, it gets annoying after a while.
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Just listened to it all the way through. I'll give some quick thoughts.

Fiends are Knocking is fucking sick, one of my favorites from the entire album. In general, he killed the hooks on this album too. Production sounds refined as well. I don't get the hate for "Good Guys Left Behind" either? I got a tongue in cheek kind of vibe from it, especially after the hook. I also don't really consider it a "boring" listen either; I think a lot of people were anticipating it to be bad and subsequently felt predisposed to disliking the process of listening to it. By no means am I calling it album of the year or anything like that, but it's not nearly as bad as a few people are making it out to be.

Got it on replay big time, love it now.

It's an love it or hate it album, I really love it but I can see people not liking it..

But I really wonder what Hopsin could do at Shady Records with help from Dre, Eminem & great producers.. This way he could focus more on rapping and stuff. He proved he can make beats and stuff but he needs some variety in his beats because 1 producer is a little bit boring..
HOLD UP WAIT A MINUTE, your career ain't shit unless you got some kendrick in it.
