I completely agree with the OP. The Jay-Z hate has gotten ridiculous. This album is great imo. I loved it on first listen and it's actually gotten better.

even i was caught up in the hype around coondrick's verse but looking back his delivery, namedrops and king of NY line is what caused the hype, and of course a couple of months since then I've gone past that, it's just a normal verse to me now

though even if im not the biggest coondrick fan im curious about his plans for his next album, will he use the angry voice, will it have another story line, im one of the guys that think s80 is better than gkmc (which had zero replay value)

that's another unpopular opinion

I feel like s80 has better songs, but GKMC is the better album overall

Big Sean is always good on features because he's usually different from the other artists and brings a nice change of pace but his style isn't nearly interesting enough to carry a whole album. It becomes a snoozefest quickly

I kinda get what mononym means when he thinks s80 has more replay value than GKMC. I dunno I feel like I have to listen to the entire album front to back to rly enjoy gkmc at times, even though many songs work as being detatched from the overall concept and can be listened to as fun singles I guess. But I guess listening to one song on GKMC is like reading one chapter of a novel, plus I liked the diversity of S80... True story blow my high is awesome, love that southern feel to it.
