We're gonna rock this house until we knock it down
So turn the volume loud, cause it's mayhem 'til the a.m.
So baby make just like K-Fed and let yourself go, let yourself go
Say fuck it before we kick the bucket
Life's too short to not go for broke

Go Berzerk!

I haven't enjoyed a track as much as "Rap God" in a while.

His wit and playful thinking is riiiight back up to a high standard.

I say it about 100 times a week but... this track is so fucking good.

Nobody is like him with flows. When he's like "me? I'm a product of Rakim, Lakim Shabazz, 2Pac... " the way he packs dense sentances together yet makes it sound like some very easy to hear, catchy sing-song flow... he makes complex shit sound simple.

Nobody has even half as much charisma either. Even amazing underground rappers are either usually pretentious or just provocative with no purpose other than descriptive violence for its sake.

Where as Em with shit like "I gotta make sure in this chicken scratch - I scribble and doodle enough rhymes to... maybe try help get some people through tough times"... it's the subtle flicks of self-analysis / awareness such as referring to his rhymes as chicken scratch, and acknowledging a dimension of what he does and why whilst still making it sound artful rather than just literal and pointless... Em hasn't done this kind of thing to this degree since TES era.

The track is dope af. Ima rewind again. One of his best performances ever, and the title is pretty genius given that it's a 6 minute 'variety of rap' talents track. He doesn't just brag or spazz out... he goes from comical to serious to socially provocative to self mocking in the space of a minute and within the same time using multiple flows for justified reasons to specify the kind of emotion or 'feel' of the lines. He does pretty much everything, in one song, to the point where you could use it as a 'guide to' fucking tutorial track to study to aspiring rappers.

Em deeeefinitely gets underrated due to being white too. Not by general public; by critics but I don't think for that reason. But by hip-hop heads for sure. Obviously his content has a lot to do with it in terms of a lot of people finding his circle of similar themes annoying etc. - but let's be honest, if Nas has made rap god... you'd have every hip-hop DJ and radio producer on the airwaves exclaiming how this dude is untouchable etc. Where as with Em, it's like a begrudging acknowledgement from 1 or 2, at best lmao. I know Twitter went crazy but within the game, he's rarely mentioned.

The skill is crazy.

At least when Nas picks a shitty beat, it's a hip-hop beat.

Someone just seriously said Rap God isn't a hip hop beat lmao what a dumb thing to say. Of course it's hip hop, whether you like it or not. Every song on this album is hip hop. Even The Monster.

Right. What a dumb thing to say.. The beat of Rap God immenates hip-hop in it's truest form.

Strip Eminem from it and I'd say it was Skrillex. And, you of all people on this forum don't need to try and call people out for being dumb. You're a search away from all your GOAT posts..

I don't really make outrageous claims like that. You can not like a beat, but it is hip hop lmao. :facepalm

Me of all people, huh? Give me some of my "dumb" posts then. Share with the class, dipshit. I'm sure everyone will give a fuck.

Heard Cleaning out my Closet on the radio about an hour ago and I cringed. No just kidding but seriously it sounded really good but kinda different. This is the first time I've listened to it since Headlights so that was kind of interesting. I almost forgot how dope Em was in TES era.
