3 Injured in shooting at Jermain Dupri's party

Postby Rob » Aug 2nd, '06, 23:24

Three people were injured after shots were fired at a party thrown by Jermaine Dupri and his SoSO Def Records on late last night (July 30).

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, witnesses told police that a fight broke out at the Atlanta Peach Ballroom, after a man tried to steal another man's gold chain. The chain snatcher then pulled out his gun and begun firing after his attempt to lift the chain failed.

Two women received gunshot wounds to their arms and were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. The third victim, a man, showed up at an unnamed local hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Authorities did not reveal he names of the victims and nor arrest have been made.

The party was part of a series of weekend events sponsored by SoSo Def. Representatives for SoSo Def could not be reached for comment.

this is terrible. i know it's expected that a party thrown by someone associated with hip hop should erupt in violence, but i gotta say i'm really shocked by this. it's just unfortunate that some asshole who shouldn't have been there in the first place ruined the party and hurt people.

jd needs to let ms. jackson get at that clown. she'll take him out :boxing:
