Recommend me some dope instrumental only albums

Postby OMEGA » Dec 30th, '13, 00:54

I've got a lot of books since I've been trying to read more, so I want some nice instrumental albums that go along well with reading. Preferably, I want something that's mellow and atmospheric, and not too distracting. I downloaded the Clams Casino instrumental tape, and that shit was exactly what I was looking for. Any more albums like this?

Some crazy beats on this one, way ahead of it's time!

I'll mention J Dilla - Donuts; short instrumentals, (rarely ever go over 2 minutes) flows flawlessly and all the subtile audio clips that Dilla used on here to reference his impending death are pretty fucking heart-breaking tbh.
His beat tapes have some incredible material on them, too

Madlib's - Beat Konducta Vol. 5 is another must have, it's in the same vein as Donuts (it's actually a tribute album to Dilla)

If you're lookin' for some pure bangers with insane samples, Oh No's - Dr. No's Oxperiment is a crazy dope album

For the Clams Casino type sound, check out Blue Sky Black Death
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
