The longevity of Recovery is great. I mean out of all the albums released in 2010, perhaps only Recovery and Teenage Dream keep on selling...I think it will sell more than 4.6 mil this year...closer to that 5 mil mark

For Em to be a contender, Adele's next album would have to be her last in the decade and sell significantly less than 21, Taylor Swift's next 3-4(?) albums have to flop and at the same time Em would need 2-3 more albums doing Recovery numbers. In short, that ain't happening.

I'm definitely sure he could never win this decade but if he released one more or esp. two albums he could be a contender but like you said it really depends on if Adele & Taylor add to their already impressive numbers as well.
