I kinda feel sorry for all the other great players in the world. With Messi and Ronaldo around, they have no chance.

Lets do a "from 2008 to now Ballon Dor winners" without Ronaldo and Messi:

2008= Fernando Torres (Casillas and Xavi runner ups)
2009= Xavi (Iniesta and Eto'o runner ups)
2010= Iniesta (Xavi and Sneijder runner ups)
2011= Xavi (Iniesta and Rooney runner ups)
2012= Iniesta (Xavi and Falcao runner ups)
2013= Franck Ribéry (Zlatan and Neymar runner ups)

I just think that in the late 90s early 00s there were more great players than now, now is mostly Ronaldo and Messi...back then you had Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Owen, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Beckham, Baggio, Roberto Carlos and so on..

You could do that now too, with Ronaldo, Messi, Zlatan, Suarez, Xavi, Iniesta, Özil, Ramos, Lahm and so on.

It's not the same, Ronaldo and Messi are above them, you always know who's going to win the Ballon d'or, it's always between Messi and Ronaldo....back then it was harder to choose from, that's why every year you had a different player winning

It's too late for them Emma... the best chance for Iniesta was after Spain won the World Cup & Barca won everything but like Rolly pointed out it'd be hard to deny Messi at the time.
